You morons who think this kind of thing is funny are sick. Like him or hate him he is the mayor and he does have financial problems. If you want the job then run against him but this is our city Dont make it appear worse than it is. Who gets arrested for $1,500???

I believe he was arrested for theft by deception, and the last I checked that is a criminal offence.

Theft by deception is not borrowing money from someone, last I checked.

Ok, so just cause he has financial problems we should leave him alone? He's running this city! If he can't budget his personal checkbook how can we trust him with the city's!!!

So because he is a mayor it is ok to twist the law. The jails would be overflowing if everyone that was behind on paying debt was arrested!

With what money? I wouldn't have a problem if everyone that didn't pay their debt was arrested. My problem is you cant pick and choose AND this was a civil matter not criminal!

Worst case scenario there is a judgement issued against the the debtor. I have never heard of anyone going to jail for a personal debt. There is something not right here.

I agree with Jim. Personally, Im not crazy about the man nor did I vote for him. I'm sure those who despise him were elated to see that he went to jail, if only for a minute apparently. Owing a personal debt, as far as I know, is a civil matter...not a criminal one. So I agree, there is something not right here. In my opinion, there has been something not right with this city for a long time...and I could use all ten fingers to point that out!

"Theft charges of items valued at over $2000 are usually Felony 3 charges (maximum penalty 7 years in prison)"

"No person hereafter convicted of embezzlement of public moneys, bribery, perjury or any other infamous crime, shall be eligible to the General Assembly, or capable of holding any office of trust or profit in this Commonwealth."
