Those spaces should be for customers.

Robert as a business owner I agree with you however the city should back off on parking tickets so much. I don't know how many times I've heard customers complain they want to shop in Monongahela but they're worried about the meter maid ticketing there vehicle while they are trying to shop in our city!Plus a pet peeve of my own a few business owners purposely park there vehicles right in front of there stores every day and pay the ticket as if they are renting a space. The city needs to stop this!

Are you seriously made that the city is giving out parking tickets? Guess what if you put a quarter in the meter you won't get a ticket!!!!

When I have a doctors' apointment..for the most part 2 hours for my quarter doesn't cut it...what, am I supposed to keep running out to feed the meter if I'm longer?

People who work at a business should always leave the best spots for customers. Anything less is ignorant

Looking at the size of the behinds on most of those business owners you would think they would park for free in the Aquatorium and walk a little bit.

..There is one such business owner I'm sure you are referring to that has been around for many, many years..this business owner has very bad knees and other medical problems but still chooses to go to work everyday despite these problems..quess this business owner should quit, leave another abandon building which would eventually become an eye sore for the city and..ya know, go on disability or let the state take care of it.

This person would clearly quality for a disability parking permit. Also, I would bet that the city would be happy to put a disabled space at this person's business to accommodate this person. This is a reasonable solution to this problem.

City parking in Monongahela is dirt cheap. Merchants and their employees who take up parking space that is intended for their customers are serial offenders and should be ticketed accordingly. There is plenty of free parking available in the rear of most of these buildings and/or at the aquatorium.

Most businesses don't allow employees to park in spaces meant for customers - but then most downtown businesses don't operate as real businesses anyhow.

..And the City of Monongahela doesn't operate as a real city either!

My knees were a constant source of pain and thru advice of my Dr. I got a pair of knee supports, nothing fancy, just elastic things from the pharmacy and started walking for 10 or 15 minutes per day. Also have a heart condition and developed type 2 diabetes. After 4 months of nice weather I was up to about an hour per day and threw away the supports as they were not needed any longer. Oh yeah, I lost 35 pounds as well. My blood sugar is normal as long as I take my reduced medication now and haven't had a chest pain in years.

See..this post is a perfect example of yet another comment from you that has nothing to do with the thread. What does all of your ailments have to do with the parking problems in Monongahela?

And since you are merely posting a stupid reply to me I won't bother your ignoring the rules and not saying any thing on topic. Of course you don't care that I was merely posting a reply to a post that was on topic. Making my reply a good post. What a moron. The help I received for my ailments just may prove to be good advise to other readers. And what part of your post was helpful to anyone but yourself? NADA

Interesting - apparently the Chamber of Commerce also thinks this is a problem:

From their facebook page:

"It was also decided that we would ask the Chamber board to consider backing an effort to ask business owners and employees not to park in front of their own or other's establishments so that we could free up more space for potential customers."

Would also be nice of them to give the customers a break from feeding the meters a couple hours a day or week as well.
