Wow, from the sounds of you, I pray to God you don't have children because if I were your child, I'd commit suicide! Here's food for thought; maybe the true problem starts with parent(s)like you. Your speech tells me you barely attended or payed attention in any school. You've never told lies in your whole life? Your perfect? Sorry but there's no perfect human being.

A teens mental problems or suicide aren't the faults of police, schools or teachers. If your in jail, its probably from problems you caused yourself. Mental problems stem generally from home life beginning as a child. Maybe alcoholic or drug addict parent, maybe from physical or mental abuse. Maybe from being sexually abused. Some of which can be extremely traumatic and never go away in a child's mind and can affect the rest of their lives. Some children handle things in good ways, they make the best of a bad situation and some emotionally can't handle it. It will always linger in the back of their mind and can surface at the most minute issue arising. Sadly, suicide causes are many and various and happens to people of all ages. We can only pray to God to help.

One great thing our Country, the USA has is Freedom of Speech. This is a discussion area and I don't believe YOU are the owner of the website. I am American, nor am I alone and a very WARM blooded human being. "Just Another Human Being" is merely a user name.
I've responded to your posts because they literally don't make sense. You sound like a very confused person and clearly easily angered or annoyed. As stated by others on here... you sound like a fruitcake. This is not what these people need.
Did you attend schools in Princeton? I sincerely doubt it. So how in God's name could you possibly understand what people are feeling, what parents who've lost children are feeling or how the students feel? People need compassion, understanding and are searching for answers as with any grieving process. And you offer FROGS??
Your saying Frogs are going to fix the problem of children committing suicide? In nature there are some extremely poisonous and deadly frogs. I know many years ago while in school and I've heard from younger friends/family members, that teachers did and still do offer various forms of natural visual aids to children, from frogs, to rabbits, to fish, etc. Their taught to care for, study and enjoy animals, plus there are certain groups that take various animals to the schools to teach about them. Their way ahead of you on this subject. Oh and we do have Zoo's now days.
Last of all Sievert Boy, don't try to play psychiatrist, not with me, go talk to one is a better idea. Better yet, go play with the FROGS.

I will be there but did you see what i responded to you with on the root cause of it? It's not religion Ok no it's values please understand we press our children constantly bombarding them with negative ones and zeroes!'And not one iota of real life or natural un challenged ways that nature gives to us.'And all these schools have to do is open the door to nature and let it in! There is more to it than most people think,'OK can a book tell you how something grows,'Sure of course it can but watching it is not seeing it with your eyes, and touching it with there little fingers is the missing link!
Schools must be challenged with this huge error or soon there will be children finding there own schools that ruin knowing love!'Or life "SO if you people, would just give these children a chance to breath maybe they could teach you, how to love! "Love unconditionally again, remember the children do that and we as adults forget to put all things into perspective when there's is much different than ours. If a child tells you your a jerk you probably are a rotten peace of work!'Out of the mouths of our children please, give them a little nature and you just might see there grad average goes threw the roof again!

Apparently from the sounds of Richards preaching "we press our children constantly bombarding them with negative ones and zeroes", clearly he's one that may be a big cause of childrens problems. He throws a huge Negative outlook on life and especially religion and sounds like he's trying to tell everyone else their at fault. I pray he don't have children of his own and feel very sorry for his parents.

You seem to overlook the whole aspect of School, which is to teach our children reading, writing and arithmetic amongst other important tools needed in life. Children have the "fun" learning during kindergarten, and some schools already have outdoor classes, which I think are awesome, regardless children still need to learn these tools of life for their future and the future of our world. Not seeing frogs in tree's is NOT their problem nor is it the answer. I believe the true problem is peer pressure as it has been for decades.

Princeton HS Student wrote:
Princeton HS is NOT what people are making this to be. This school IMO is one of the best in the area. I have always been proud that I go to Princeton. I honestly believe most students at this school believe the same thing. Parents blaming this on the school system is appauling. However, I do believe some of the administation staff need to be reviewed (Im guessing many in this community know who Im talking about). Its time we do something about this, instead of pointing fingers to blame someone, lets take this negative situation and turn it into a positive and enlighting situation. I believe our school should do more to promote the Suicide prevention programs, as well as host these programs more often, maybe an adjustment to the administrative staff and counciling staff is a need, but lets not say what a bad community this is, because its NOT!
I agree with much of what this person speaks about. People are so quick to blame others, when they need to simply look in the mirror. Some of teens problems start at home or within a family, some come from broken families with parents that constantly bicker instead of just joining together (CAN BE DONE as separate parents!) to create a positive attitude role model. Praise your children for the good and naturally point out the bad. Teenagers especially, going through many emotional and physical changes, their hormones out of wack and they don't understand whats happening. Hormones cause depression, anxiety and a roller coaster in your mind. Much like PMS for a woman only this happens to both boys and girls.
Then you add peer pressure at school, where some think their better than all (this starts at home too in some cases), this can be resolved with the old days, all wear uniforms, all carry the same book bags and most of all, all treated equally.
A major problem I learned from growing children is that the schools pump in their heads "child abuse", where sadly there IS too much of this, a mere slap on the butt is NOT child abuse yet children are led to believe any form of correction is child abuse and the parents are not allowed to correct their own children. So the children NOW control the parents and teachers because they have the "power". I've seen it both ways and its so sad. Children became unruly at home and AT SCHOOL.
Child abuse is an awful thing, and this is when the parent needs corrected, but many have simply and normally corrected their children. That should be our right.
So quit blaming the School's!! Its time to turn back the clock just a little, where the parents had control over their children and I believe it would solve alot of issues.

<quoted text>the car accident is not a school-involved problem, why should a nonschool accident be punished by the school? This makes no sense. This is not the main issue of suicide, this is just jealous emotions to bash on princeton high school.

Not completely true. I think the way it works at PHS is if you stand out, your noticed. MVP basketball, football, top cheerleaders, wrestling, best of class. I feel that the popular students (the ones that don't care about anyone else but their popular friends, the ones who brag about having sex with their friends and getting drunk, the ones who talk in the middle of class about their personal life), they get it easy. Most teachers like them, especially coaches, and my prime example is the principal. She is very nice to you, she hasn't done anything to me personally to anger me, but the way she let's her son pass through stuff like he has special privileges, he takes advantage of being the principals student and disrespects the teachers and the students. Not all of these popular students are like this, just quite a few. I feel like the people who don't fit into this group, the ones who for the most part do good, respect the students and the teachers and care about EVERYONE, get the raw end of the deal. Personally, I have never had sex, drank, smoked, done any drugs, I'm nice to everyone, even the people who aren't always nice to me, and I give everyone a second chance. So why don't I get treated the same or if not better than the others that aren't. I feel that there is a ton of negative stress to be like the ignorant people at PHS, instead of positive reinforcement for the good. If this was fixed, along with maybe a lighter work load at the school, I thing it would brung the stress levels way down. A few other things, it is important to understand that in Princeton, their is a bowling alley and a theatre, that is it. So sometimes I wonder if that's part if the reason drugs and alcohol is so popular in p-ton, maybe because of boredom. And that a important thing as everyone as a society, parents are spending less and less with their teens, which when we need help the most, the less and less likely they will be available, and if something where to happen at school or friends, they would atleast have family to support them. If they have a strong family relationship, the better of everyone is. I miss Courtney and Tyler, and I am still deeply sorry for them. I hope our high school system is looked at and adjusted. P.S.-Drug testing at phs is a joke...the students that mainly do drugs aren't in sports therefore they aren't drug tested and the ones who are least likely to do drugs are tested like crazy, or not at all...I have not been tested once yet my friend has 6 times

"Merely testing positive to nicotine"...Our kids need to realize that there are consequences to every action. Your daughter broke a law, and a rule that has been in place for decades. Until parents get their heads out of the sand, kids are going to continue doing drugs,(nicotine is a drug), turning to alcohol, and will know that mommy and daddy won't do anything about it. It is a downward spiral that is simply ignored by most, and only reconized when a student has lost all hope, and ends his/her life. Lets get back to the core of things, Princeton, "Structure". Are parents really in touch with their kids? Do you really know exactly what they are doing at all times? It is my hope that this "epedemic" is a HUGE wake up call for all Parents. Lets start teaching our kids selfless-ness and the appreciation of life, instead of self-entitlement, and status. It all starts at the home.
