Lots of info but clearly not quite true. Yeah, when Bush took over, the budget was almost balanced (relative given both parties capacity for spending), unemployment was fairly low, inflation low, interest rates weren't low but were in the process of coming down. Bush/republicans cut taxes, start two wars, create a new prescription drug program, add the Blueprint for America Act to get low income families into homes and added trillions to the national debt. When GW took office the national debt was $5.7 trillion and when he left it was $10.7 trillion. Over 1 trillion was added during Bush's last year when he requested the bailout of Wall Street. And don't forget Bush's own stimulus plan of tax rebates, etc in 2007.

Yeah, you're right that jobs were created during the Bush administration but what drove that - HOUSING. The boom in housing created lots of jobs although it also created a bubble (2004-2006). What happens when bubbles burst? All those jobs go down the drain.

The real kick is all the deficit spending done by the Bush administration while the economy was GOOD, or should I say, Outstanding. If it was so great then why did Bush end up with $5 trillion of deficit spending? You can say it - party doesn't matter, both love to spend.

Obama nor the democrats, nor the republicans for that matter, are involved in the day-to-day affairs such as contracting out security. Its done by the responsible agency which is the Departments of Defense and State, for the most part. The DOD is the biggest user thus overseas the conduct of contracts. Blame our military.
