The children should never have been awarded citizenship if both parents are illegal. You don't have to be a brain surgeon to figure out that woeman are hauling their anchor babies in their stomachs across the border for the free ride that baby represents. I think it is extortion of children. Who knows how many of these babies are conceived just for the purpose of providing a livlihood. Sickening.
and actually a confusing issue for families. The child should be have the same citizenship of the parents, irregardless of where the birth takes place.

ALl these Bill Ayers type socially engineered kids in college who have never paid taxes or a bill of any magnitude for that matter can march and sing all they want. They have no idea what they are supporting other than a romantic idea of a world without borders. Just wait until it's their job an illegal snatches, or their identy, or their property they worked hard for that goes to squallor becuase the rental home next door has 6 families and no mainteance. Or wait until a child of theirs is denied health care for one reason or another while an illegal is led through the doors of free health care without questions asked. No, it's time to do something about this. And that something should include some pretty hard questions to Mexico. Where does the money we (and your citizens who are here illegally) go? What do you spend our money on if not for the welfare of your neediest citizens.

Colorado should pass a law saying to be born a US citizen, both parents need to be legal US citizens, not just here on a vacation visa or working permits.

Why was D. Hunters words offensive ? Yes, deport all the family. Just because the children are Americans dosn't mean they have to be left behind. They need their parents. Illegals try to wipe their behinds with a lot of excuses. These children are the resposibility of the parents. Not our Government.
The party's over folks. Gov.officials are growing a spine.

Revise Ammendment #14. They've taken it out of context, to fit their own situation.

Huzzah for Rep. Hunter.

Under current statutes, the parents would have three options. Take the children when the parents are deported. Place the children with guardians (who ARE citizens). Or put the child up for adoption. Two of these options would have the children remain in this Country. Even if they opt for deportation, the children are still US citizens and would be allowed to return when they reach the age of majority.

You people sound like total racists, if the kids are born here they are American citizens, and for the idiot that commented back in Mexico believe this; all of the illegal people are not just Mexican in California. I know this for a fact that there are others out there in the same situation not of Mexican heritage. Is the illegal immigrant situation out of control, yes it is but they are the very same people that will do the work that many of you would not even touch. Maybe now with the economy the way it is everyone wants their jobs but prior to the economy no one wanted to clean, wash dishes, cut grass, pick up trash, so while they maybe here on our dime they certainly are willing to do whatever it takes to make a better life with something no one here ever wanted to do since everyone seems to think their jobs are below normal standards.

WOW is all I can say to most of you!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand what the big problem is here. Here we are living in the great USA watching our country go downhill. Why? Because our government has allowed anybody and everybody from outside the United States to come over here and live off the money that was put into funds from our hard working ancestors(i.e. Welfare, Medicare, SSI, etc. etc.) to support our citizens when they retire, or are handicapped or are in dire need of help to support and sustain their lives and/or childrens lives. We all know that there will be no retirement left for us hard working americans with in a few years. So AGAIN why is everyone so PISSED off that this guy stood up and made the comment that should have been made many years ago?

This kind of racism may fly in Ramona and Julian, but as his father learned, it will limit his ability to seek office outside rural areas.

He's right. If a parent is here illegally, they should be deported. Immediately. So the child should go too.

I'd add that anchor status should be revoked.

RonPaul.com Ron Paul will end anchor status.

They can come here legally to pick my lettuce and scrub my toilet.

You're welcome.

As it is, there are so many anchors here, we won't need lettuce pickers or toilet scrubbers for decades to come.

This is a tricky one but I ned to raise the question that if the parents are in this country illegally and they have children then how does it make the child a "legal American citizen". Just because one is born on American soil does not neccessarily mean they are legally a citizen especially if the parents were here illegally in the first place. I realize that it is not the fault of the child that his parents are here illegally but it raises alot of questions. Is it right to deport the parents and take their child away from them too? Then who's problem does that child become? As American citizens our values have always dictated that it is not right for a child to grow up without his or her parents. I am not taking either side on this issue but as mentioned it does raise alot of questions. The only thing that I will say is that the problem of illegals in this country has to be addressed and has to be stopped. That is the plain simple reality. As a legal citizen who serves my country I have the right to that opinion. Stop being blind and look around you. It is a big time problem!!!

My "guess" is that I believe you meant guest in your remark, and that you don't really care for laws. You would rather they sent the parents home and kept the kids in an orphanage? If so, you are an idiot.

How does one deal with an infant of illegal immigrants? Sure adoption is an option, but there are bill that need to be paid, health care that just isn't free. Who watches and cares for the child? Who takes care of education and housing? We could put them in section 8 housing when their older but that's not an environment which usually produces a very high class well educated citizen. We'd be throwing these kids into a life that isn't in their best interests. If later on down the road they want to become U.S. citizens, then they can. They need to do it legally. In the mean time the more children we keep in America, the more of our tax dollars will be going towards providing for these children who were born here.

correction on a few typos. Section 8 housing does NOT produce very high class and well educated citizens and the child has bills, not bill that needs to be paid. Sorry.

Fantastic, this should have been done years ago instead of making them citizens eligible to drain out Social Services for medical, food, schooling, prisons, etc...

Our government needs to adopt this one.

I am proud of Duncan Hunter for finally having the courage to speak out about this issue and he is completely correct in what he is saying. Most people have the same feelings and just don't know what to do about it. I am sure that if he wanted to be on FOX NEWS they would be glad to have him at least with FOX NEWS you get more of the truth than you do on other networks. Look at how the News Media was afraid to say anything bad about OBAMA and report the truths about all the issues we are now finding our country in which is bad for this country. I personally live in an area of the city has all different kinds of people from around the world and some not all think that they do not have to abide by our laws or city codes and are further making my area look like the guetto by hanging cloths on fences front porch railings parking in the yards vehicles on blocks to work on them for weeks on end don't mow the grass trash and everything else left in yards and on the streets. As an Citizen of the United States of American I should not have to learn the ways of anyone other than what the American lifestyle is not another country's way of life.
