Nothing will ever change in this area until you quit giving handouts to people in that area, take away their Link cards and medical cards, start making them contribute to the community, go door to door and round up all the illegals and criminals. Clean up the area and make it look like Moline and not Mexico, Then you might start to see a difference. Sorry I know this is going to piss a bunch of people off but sometimes the truth hurts.

To 69pross - There is no truth behind your comment only ignorance and assumption. It's easy to say things like that when you are hiding behind a user name.
Go sit at the public aid office and COUNT how many of the people asking for assistance are HISPANIC and how many are of another race. You'd be surprised.

Nothing will ever change until parents start being parents to their kids.

I stand in line at the grocery store and they're more hispanics than whites or blacks using WIC cards and go to Walgreens to get a prescription and you will see a whole line of hispanics using their medical cards. Moral to the story go get a job and you wont have time to get in trouble.

Do not categorize Floreciente residents as living off of WIC or Link cards, there are people in all walks of life doing THAT. The problem we are facing is with gang members! The kid that is accused of shooting is an American Citizen, born to an American Citizen. This has nothing to do with anyone coming from Mexico or living off of the government hand outs. The parents live well and both have good paying jobs. There was no excuse for this to have happened. So please keep those racial and prejudice comments away from here and educate yourself into KNOWING and not ASSUMING.

First off I don't see how you could possibly see how immature and arrogant you are. I am Mexican-American. My father is White, Mother Mexican. I come from a well off family, and a very hardworking family. Yet because my job doesn't offer insurance EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A DEGREE I have to use the Medical card. It is something that I pay into each pay check from the two jobs I hold so how dare you judge people for using what they pay into?! I do agree a lot of people get handouts, and I will not lie I feel embarrassed to have to go down to DHS but I do it for my son and for that I feel no shame. It has nothing to do with where my family came from, to throw race into that is pure ignorance. My family grew up with Alex's parents. I grew up with Alex myself. He came from a good family and no matter the trouble he got himself into, he at heart is a good man too that chose the wrong path. His family DOES NOT rely on public aide. They ARE NOT illegal. They have just as much right to be here as anyone else. Just because people from the Floriciente neighborhood have enough pride to stand up and say enough is enough. They are trying to make a stand as a community to stop all the violence and illegal activities in their neighborhood. If they were as bad you say, they wouldn't give a damn what was happening. I can only assume that you are a white male hiding behind a username too scared to state anything about YOURSELF and instead of looking at your owns flaws as a person you pick on minorities to make your self feel better at night. Grow up, we have became a nation based on all different nationalities, and I can only assume that you try to be as patriotic as can be but if you aren't full blooded native american then you are an immigrant yourself!

Besides all that. This gang related shooting should have nothing to do with race or nationality. At the moment all that should matter is the people from BOTH families and the victims themselves. Please keep them in your prayers. Both families are going through a tragedy. I hope all are getting through this with as much support as possible.
