I've been a cat owner my entire life, and this story breaks my heart. Whoever could have done such a vile and depraved thing to this poor animal deserves the same fate...utterly disgusting.
I hope the authorities find the person responsible.

I hope they catch the piece of human garbage that did this and subject him or her to the same treatment that this poor defenseless animal was subjected to.

Rest in Peace--my Sweet Cat--this breaks my heart,
some teenager (my Guess) with nothing better to do than harm others. Next this person will be killing and hurting people (so I hope they catch this person)

This makes me sick to my stomach. This person or persons should be put behind bars and never let out or nailed to a pole. What disgusting human beings. Poor beautiful cat.

I would hate to be the S.O.B. who did this. Once they find the individual, his/her name, photos, etc. will be plastered all over the Net as the "Kitty Killer"... and will certainly have a fate worse than this poor defenseless critter.

Welcome to the Bridge Sweet Little Man. I am so sorry some human life form did this to you. I can not call who ever is responsible for this cruel act a "man/woman" - because they don't deserve that title. My heart breaks for your suffering, but welcome to eternity and in God's gracious hands. I only hope the guilty ones are found and pay. I am so sorry little man. Thank you to all involved with the rescue and trying to help this cat survive. God Bless y'all.

RIP kitty. Find those responsible for this killing and give me 5 minutes alone with them. You'll hear them crying for mercy. They won't receive mercy from me.

I am just sick about this incident. I also think this disgusting and vile beyond comprehension act was done by a depraved young person which is more upsetting to me. Someone who has been so abused, bullied or seen so much abuse and violence in their life so often that they are now desensitized to what violent act this person has committed against one innocent animal. It makes me wonder what the world turning into and what type of children are we raising. A place where the youth commit violence against each other til one nearly dies, youth light another youth on fire, gang violence on nearly a daily basis, youths shooting totally innocent victims at schools and on the way home......there are real underlying issues here and it's far, far deeper than most are willing to realize and be accountable for. I hope the person or persons that committed this agregious act will get the help they so desperately need before doing something worse to someone or something else. I can only hope they get caught or turned in before they do. The person or persons who did this are our future and that's a scary thought. Good thing I believe all animals go to heaven.

That poor little cat. How could someone do such a thing? I will never understand how someone can just do that without any remorse. I hope this person get caught. They should nail him to a pole.

We saw this on the national newswire this morning here in Australia. Immediately, I sent in a donation. I had heard that 'Dutch' was improving and that he still gladly gave his heart and trust to his carers at the Vet Hospital.
Let us be thankful that he was loved and cared for by the human race for most of his short life and his last few hours were no exception to the rule. He forgave.
Thank you to those all over the world who have been touched by Dutch. Thank you for the donations. It is still heartening to know that we are universally unified by crying out at the injustice of such heinous, incomprehensible cruelty.

After having just lost my own cat in an accident, and feeling the guilt of possibly having avoided it, it makes me sick that someone would do this after this cat had lost his own best friend. I'd choke the s.o.b. with my own hands if I knew who did this.

Me too. I lost my cat of 15 years this past February. I have not experienced such deep sorrow. I held my cat when she was suffering it angers and grieves me that someone went out of their way to inflict suffering - crucify a cat for fun. Beyond sick.

What kind of human trash does such a thing to a defenseless animal? I pray this person is found and dealt with... hopefully someone calls in a tip. DISGUSTING! Absolutely DISGUSTING!

I believe this little guy had a name, "Dutch". We can never bring him back, but I am donating $100 to Animal Legal Defense Fund and a friend will match the contribution. In Dutch's memory, perhaps we can enact laws to protect animals from this type of sadism and not only find the person responsible, but more importantly, convict him as a felon. Anyone who sadistically hurts another is a felon and if he (or she) cannot be rehabilitated, say performing commutity service with close supervision at an animal shelter, then put behind bars for a long, long time.
