A story like this makes you feel impotent: There is nothing you can do, meanwhile some sadist is running around out there. Actually there is something to do: Keep the story alive, especially the part about the $2500 reward. Idiots who do things like this tend to attract other idiots, who'll some day step forward to claim the reward.

Someone said several days ago, if you throw enough money at something it gets done. We all need to donate time, energy and money to Crimestoppers, PETA, Henry County Humane Society, etc... and also KEEP THE STORY ACTIVE!

Obviously, I'm not local to the incident but want to ask if there is anything I can do i addition to adding this to my FB profile. We need to catch these people bc they'll not only do it again but they are warming up to move onto people (children & old people are also defenseless).
I was on some conservitive web site by accident and the comments made my stomach turn. They are equating Dutch'es death to murdered children and priorities.
What don't they understand about animal abuse that is common knowledge - a. it's abuse b.it's not teh first nor will be the last C. it's "target practice" for the real deal: torturing humans.

death to the monster who killed this innocent kitty. after hearing about this story I went home to my cat and just hugged her. couldnt imagine anything happening to her! she's my angel!
I did the same with my kitty and my dog, especially seeing a dog "owner" (certainly not a pet parent or care giver) wack her dog repeatedly in the head open handed slapping bec the dog wanted to play with other dogs in the dog park and also sniffed a dog en route "home".
I screamed NO and tried to get to her but she took off. Right there in the middle of the dog park I just broke down and cried, hugging my dog as tightly as I could.
All the others in the park, who observed this attack on her leashed dog, looked at *me* as if I was the insane one for caring.
This is the reason dogs bit arbitrairly , when being a dog is a punishable offense.

My FB friends and I have made donations to our animal charities in honor of Dutch. I honestly believe that the socipath that did this was a middle teen boy and I believe he will brag at some point. I think he is dangerous and Dutch may not have been his first killing.
I would listen to chat online and around middle schools. I think this person did this alone and I think he planned it - indicated by the nailing to the pole. Dana Miller is a hero to me for how much she cared and helped Dutch. Hundreds of strangers care about him. Please keep looking. I am in CA and wish I could do more but you will succeed and many are counting on your efforts.

We're still watching, waiting and willing to get this guy. Yes, it is a male. Yes, he will get apprehended and sentenced to the full extent of the law. Hopefully, the new law that should be put in to place .... "Dutch's Law"

I actually believe that it was two sociopaths who did this to Dutch, and they were familiar with this rural area. The reason I say that two sociopaths had to have done this is that one sociopath couldn't have held the cat up while holding a hammer and a nail to nail Dutch's foot to the pole. I believe that after battering the cat senseless, one sociopath held Dutch and his foot while the other sociopath nailed his foot to the pole. I hope that they will eventually find the F'ers who did this to this innocent creature named Dutch.

BTW...This case is just one of too many cases of animal torture out there, and the laws are still too slack. I too hear idiots say "They're just animals" or "People are more important"....it's absolutely disgusting! This story, and all other stories of animal abuse and torture, must be kept in the public forum at least until those responsible are brought to justice. Create or sign petitions urging lawmakers to make animal abuse/torture a more punishable crime, and to punish the perpetrators of animal abuse/torture to the full extant of the law.
