I voted and I have time to write this crap.

Since both of the teams mentioned will be using park district property, both are required to maintain minutes for their meetings and a treasurer's report. You can FOI any and all the information you are bringing up on this blog. They have to give you the minutes of the meetings where the coach was brought up for attacking a player if there was any discussion of it. If the incident happened, and there are no minutes, then the board swept it under the rug. If there was discussion and decisions about punishment or agreements, the informatin would need to be in the minutes of the meeting, and would need to be publicly attainable through FOI. The same rules apply to the treasurer's reports. If the organization is in a dire financial situation, they would need to show you if you request it. Neither of these organizations can avoid these rules as I am pretty sure they are both 501(c)(3) non for profit organizations using the tax payers property to practice and play on.

You can also, request the list of board memebers and coaches. You cannot get any of their personal information, but you are entitled to know who is still there, who is starting the other organization, and who will not be there.

You are entitled to the transcripts of the minutes, but they do not have to be verbatum. They can block out any personal information about people in the organization, but they cannot block out what was covered in the meetings as it pertains to those individuals. This is true for any of the public meetings and executive sessions where the public was not allowed to be present.

No need to ask those questions on this blog. Use the freedom of information act to get your answers. If the organization does not respond within a reasonable time, you file a complaint with Lisa Madigan's office.

Both organizations are private. Does his still apply? cause I would love to publish the Burros minutes for all to see.

If you are unhappy with the MPD, go to the next meeting on Tuesday. There is time slotted for public comments. If you look at the minutes from the last meeting, no one was in the audience. You must not be that angry.

I know nothing about either of these teams or coaches but I do know about the local teams in the River Valley. The boys who are less experienced play in a Wednesday night league and in the 5th quarter. The 5th quarter (prior to the scheduled game) and Wednesday night games are mini games that only the non-starters play in. There were many weeks that my son got more playing time than the starters. The boys weigh in every week prior to the River Valley games. There are also differences in the weights and age classes of the Pop Warner and River Valley league. That being said there are plenty of positives for playing Pop Warner football as well.

If they play on public property paid by the taxpayers, they fall under this rule. We pay for that field through our taxes, so they must respond. This rule would pertain to any private team who uses any public property or public funds. Just because you have registrations and fundraisers to fund your team does not exempt you from Freedom of Information and adhearing to Roberts Rules of Order for your meetings. They are tax exempt which makes them a public entity. They need to have a corporate resolution, a board of directors and a set of by-laws which are all public information. I will find the link to all this information and post it when I have it. I was on a baseball board, and we had to follow all these rules even though we were a private travelling baseball team. There is no way around it. You have to follow strict rules if you are tax exempt, 501(c)(3) and/or use any public funds which includes using park district property.

You people once again make me laugh. You can't or won't address the problems at hand so you deflect. Your program is realing from huge defections and frankly you've become the prototypical Village Idiot. You're a mess! You blame the MPD and Jim Richmond. First of all, Jim Richmond was the hardest working volunteer your board has seen in years. Secondly, most of the problems with the MPD were created by the burros. So stop deflecting it makes you look desparate.
It would seem the ones deflecting are the ones doing all the personal attacks and name calling so we don't notice our Park Official and Trustee misusing their authority to crush an organization that has supported this town for 49 years.

But he JUST got elected...Come on.... He was one of the hardest working Burro board member there was. He was on the field at 5:30a.m. and last to leave at 10:30-11:00 p.m. Good person. He doesn't even have a kid on the team.

You have to be specific on what you are requesting i.e. the date of the meetings or topics. Be as specific as you can. You might have to pay a small fee for copies if they cannot get the information to you electronically.

Listen Observer. The Burros are nothing more than an invited guest. Period. The guest has worn out it's welcome. The Village support for the Burros has been erroding for years. It took the likes of Jim Stewart; Salvatore Della Fave; Matt; Carol Hunniford and Dan O'brien to make the Village folks notice that the program is only out for itself. Not even the for the kids as was extremely apparent during the Chip Grabski's Choking incident. Again, when Hunniford forged another coaches name at East. Again last year when Sal and Hunniford attacked a Wildcats Coach in a parking lot. Again, when Mrs. Stewart was caught on tape defaming Jr. Griffins pamphelets. Again, when Mrs. della fave and Mr. della fave created a scene at the Oaks. Again, when jim stewart verbally attacked Mr. Bagdon at the Oaks. Should I continue. The Burros were a great organization but now it has been taken over by a group of THUGS! Shame on you! It's you and your band of thugs that has trashed the 49 years of tradition!

You know the adults need to get over themselves... My kid along with half the neighborhood is playing baseball in the park. First base is a frisbee, second base is a plastic bag, etc. The kids are having a great time, they may not know the official rules but they make it up along the way. Then some dad shows up and says they are playing it wrong. He starts organizing the game. Along comes another dad. They start arguing with the dad about what the rules should be, etc. Next thing you know it, my kid comes home and I say "Why did you come home? I thought you guys were having fun." They say "It was really fun until the adults showed up."

Village Trustee.
Not saying Richmond isn't a good person, agreed. As the former Burros equipment director, hard to say why he would be saying Burros equipment is so bad. Older yes, bad, shouldn't be.

I am a former Board Member from years ago. Burros is definitely a 501c and when I was on the board the minutes and treasurers report needed to be filed at the library.

He NEVER said anything remotely close to what you've written. Neither Richmond or Bagdon have trashed you people. It's the THUGS from the Burros that have attacked them.

Soccer Dad or should I say Grass Fairy Dad. Mr. Cornfield has recruited his entire staff along with 75% of all children that used to be with the Burros. In addition, the JG's have taken over the Burros' fields behind MES. The Burros have no fields and no flag program as of today. If it wasn't for Mr. Cornfield the Burros' numbers would have fallen too record lows.
Hilarious comment re: soccer. You must be in charge of marketing. If you're building a new program, alienate people. Great tactic.
Giving him a title like "Mr." is like putting lipstick on a pig. And your 75% quote is garbage. No one believes that. I'm not pro JG or Burros. But this type of out right lie is what makes people seriously question the Griffins. Blind loyalty to Cornfield, lies about enrollment, and all the bad mouthing after leaving over sour grapes is not something that persuades us to make the shift. You're just lying to people. I'm just a dad trying to make a decision but this makes me not want to jump from fying pan to fire. You're as bad if not worse than what you're running from. Makes me think your departure must mean fewer bad apples at the Burros. Thats addition by subtraction. You're actually pushing people to stay Burros with these efforts. Makes me think the Burros will be better. And here we were just looking for informaton so we can make a decision.

I'm also just a parent and quite frankly I really don't care whether you stay or leave. That's your choice. No one here is marketing or soliciting for anybody. People are on this site to vent. The Burros have treated people like garbage for years so it's a clear decision for my family. I'm sure that some jerks will be coming over. But the further I can get away from the insanity of the Burros Board the better it will be for my child. I figure we'll have new equipment and better field conditions since we will also play at East and main park. The Burros equipment was terrible last year. Period.
