Congrat Jr Griffins!!!! Thru the end of the 2nd week, your teams are 0 - 8. Don't say you weren't warned. With Bagdon, Richmond, and Romanek running the program, this is what you get. Enjoy the rest of the season.

Hey....this isn't college or the pros, it is kids playing! They are having fun and that is what matters! Good Luck to your team too! By the way...thanks for the "warning"!

Next season the Burros won't lose kids to the Griffins but the Griffins will have kids leave to go back to the Burros. Promises were not delivered and the grass isn't greener. Flag program is a joke and never should have split. People followed non-athletes in charge of the flag program like cows and wound up in the slaughter house. Figures. If you're strategic, you'd know that so goes the flag program so goes the tackle program. You have to have a feeder. And the feeder shouldn't combine with another town's league as the Griffins did. Thats poor planning and just exposes Mokena jr. griffin kids in an unstable new spin off program to another more solidified organization like frankfort which only leads to that league siphoning kids away. You wouldn't do that with a customer base. But you do it with a town's football team? They do that with other people's kids because all they care about is their own kid. They don't care about Mokena football or those coming up the ladder. If it all goes to pot, its fine so long as their kids get out of the program before it collapses.

First off jim 1 and half hours to coach kids football. You can't find a team closer to home loser. or is that the distances the court order tells you. Both Jr. Giffins and Burros are full of hillbilles. Thats right hillbillies. You both suck. and Coach jim I know you think you are a stand up guy. but get over yourself mister i am all about the kids. My family have made a choice we choose the LW prospects baseball.
. First of all I think you have me confused with someone else. My children reside in mokena, so that's why I coached there. I don't coach for either mokena team nor do I care about your baseball program. I coach for tinley park and my kid plays there as well and were happy being bulldogs!!!!! See you in a few weeks# GO BULLDOGS!!!!!

I was responding to someone"s remarks about the griffins record, just letting YOU know, the burros varsity is not winning. I think the standard at the burros was to let go the coaches for NOT WINNING!

Yes the varsity heavies are 0 - 4 this year and won one game last year, all under fatazz coach Hunniford. And Hunniford holds himself out to be a great coach. He's a coaching legend in his own mind. And the burros board stuck by hunniford after he verbally abused that kid last year. and by sticking by him the Burros gave up the chance to play at Main park this year. You get what you asked for.

My son is on the Burros heavy weight team. This is the first time I have posted on this site.

I have observed our coaches at every practice and game, and I have never seen either coach Sal or Matt be anything other than very supportive of our kids. It has been a fantastic learning environment. You might expect things to fall apart as we lose games, but the exact opposite has occurred. Both coaches Sal and Matt have been very supportive and are keeping our boys positive and focused.

I don't understand all of the personal attacks on this website. If you really feel that strongly about someone, tell it to their face.

I hope all the kids in Mokena do well regardless of the team their parents chose for them.

well said,BUT you where not there for all the yelling and so call abuse. The board screwed this all up for the kids. They fired coaches for not winning, even though the kids where learning. They our watching everything they do now,but its to late. They ruin the burros, and thats too BAD!

My son WAS on the Varsity Heavy team last year, and I WAS at the practice where the alleged incident took place. The child is still friends with my son and has admitted he did not tell of the incident exactly as it happened, and has admitted Coach Hunniford never touched him. My son played for Coach Hunniford for 2 years, and I credit Matt with the kind of football player my son is today. I'm sorry everyone has not had the type of experience as my son did, but let's all at least agree there are 2 sides to every story, and most of the time people only know half of each.

Oh come on,,, he yelled at the kid and called him a "retard". The kid was so intimidated that he quit and did not come back. The Burros board, which included his wife, did nothing. As a matter of fact, they elected Coach Hunniford to the board last year. Anybody who has been around Burros football for the last few years knows and hears his yelling at the boys. He is a despicable person and should not be around the boys

I'm not involved in this program but it seems in every program one thing is consistent, the ones that complain are the ones that are never truly involved. They pretty much drop the kid off (never witnessing them messing around all practice and then complain about coaches being hard on them and their lack of playing time) How about giving some credit to the people that devote their time to leading these kids through good times and bad.
Football is a tough sport it's time for parents to toughen up as well. A little tid bit for you parents out there with "soft" kids, maybe they don't want to be out there and are looking for reasons to quit. Quit forcing your kids to do what "you" want and start assessing the true motivation for them to be out there !!

i can only tell you that i was at that practice and things did not happen as the child originally stated. my son happens to have learned a lot from coach hunniford and never once complained about the language or any type of verbal or physical abuse. if you were not at that practice, please do not assume you know what happened.

My son put it all in perspective. This is his third yr. Playing tackle. The prior two yrs were in Frankfort square where they only played him after a 5 td lead or on wed when games don't count. Anyway he is having a ,blast this yr with the jr. Griffins lightweights. Gets to play all game until he tells coaches he needs a break. 8 tds in 6 games. One day I said to him I felt bad for him after a loss. He replied. Dad I dont care if we lose. Im playing this yr. Thank tom and Carl. Chuck victor

Have the Jr. Griffins players ever heard about the mysterious curse of the homosexual griffin merv griffin.one day my kid's practice went a little ahead of schedule. this wasnt planned but when i went to pick them up i heard screams. I drove home. Silent but hopeful, i had to face reality that my kids were never coming back because of merv. if i had to go back in time i would sign my kids up for the burros becuase they can actually win games.

It doesn't matter what field u practice on, meijer field is fine it builds discipline with all the the rocks. If the jr. griffins r so good then why don't they scrimmage the burros and see who the better team is. Just saying that at least the burros can WIN games!!!!!!
