Frankfort asks residents for input on water switch

Feedback has been trickling into Frankfort on whether or not the village should tap in to Lake Michigan water, but village officials want more.

Frankfort water is horrible! Even worse than when Mokena was using their municipal wells. Mokena going to city water was probably the best thing the village board did while I lived there. Frankfort needs to get on board, but too bad they have sat around so long that the price tag to tap onto the line that will be running right through town is extravagant.

Agreed! I find it very funny that Frankfort residents will overspend on their new homes and keep that funky, scummy and horrible tasting water! Don't they realize what that nasty water is doing to their pipes? I looked at an existing house in Frankfort and their shower area was disgusting - ruined by the water. It was such a shame, because the house was really nice. I did not buy that one! Keep spending your dollare to IMPROVE the water - dopey (and it brings down your value.)

King Richard Daley is considering privatizing Chicago's water system which is where your water will be coming from.

If you switch and the King does sell yet another of Chicago's assets, you will pay through the nose!

Don't like the taste of your water, go ahaed and switch. You will love the water but you will pay 10 times what you are paying now.

I've paid for my water in Tinley, and I miss it. Now I'm paying for salt, car washes at places with city water, bottled water, softener, special ingredients for the well and septic, replacing appliances and sinks sooner than necessary ... tell me in the long run it doesn't pay to just bring in the city water. I certainly think it's worth it.
