ok, so I hear rave reviews from people about the village market, I travel down from poland because I hear their meats are wonderful, well maybe so but their service sucks.. whoever the blond behind the meat counter is.. she is rude and obnoxious, sarcastic beyond belief, is she the owners relative?? maybe so but after her attitude, I WILL NEVER go in there again...

Used to go to Village Market years ago, never had a problem with any person who worked there. They were all very nice and helpful. However, I had meat at my daughter's wedding reception that we thought was even better than Village Markets. Found out it came from Melrose Market in Frankfort, so that is where I go now. They too are real nice and helpful, but personally, I like their meat better.

The village Market has some decent price plans on meat packages. They must be doing something right if they are still in business after all these years in a little town. I remember going there with my Grandmother when I was little and when I go there to this day it brings back memories because it has stayed the same. And I think I like that.

Wow, Jusme, I guess problem-solving skills aren't your speciality. By all means boycot a business that by your own account - as well those of everyone on this forum - has rave reviews because a low-level worker didn't treat you right.

However - and this is just a thought to be entertained only by those of us with the most basic common sense - ever think about complaining to the owner about the worker's behavior??? My guess is that he/she (like most small business owners) would want to know if someone on their front line made customers feel so angry that they didn't want to return. At least then the owner would have an opportunity to try to rectify the situation before you anonymously publicly bad-mouth the place. Who knows? You might have even gotten some free german hot dogs out of it.

And, no, I don't own the Village Market, nor are they relatives of mine! However, I did grow up in Mohawk, with the Village Market, and as someone who no longer lives in the Valley I appreciate these small-town "gems" even more.(I also always stop by for their Mexicans when in town!)It would be a shame if people like you - who don't use common sense in their interactions with the world - were successful at deterring other potential customers from a business that has spent decades building a positive reputation.

Come to think of it, the sales lady at JCPenney was rude to me. I'd better not shop there anymore. And that cashier at Hannaford was awful so I won't go there. And the custodian at Wallmart looked at me cross-eyed so better not go there, either. And my dental assistant, toll-taker, bartender...

If you had a bad experience with an entry-level worker, go to her superior. Don't complain about it on Topix!

ya know what moron.. in todays world, with the economy as shitty as it is, small and large buisnessess are getting worse and worse with their products and their customer service, will I stop going there YES!!! perhaps people solving skills are not my forte, howeveer, complaining does no good, so rather then be treated like a low life scum-bag, instead of a hard working citizen, I will just take my business elsewhere, perhaps if the young lady happens to see this, she will think twice about being an ass to other customers.

The problem is in your faulty reasoning. The young lady DOESN'T CARE. If she cared, she wouldn't have treated you badly in the first place. My guess is she'd chuckle if she saw this. She's paid the same for providing good or poor service (assuming she doesn't have stock options), she's now got one less customer to deal with, and because you didn't alert the owner her bad behavior goes unchecked. I don't think it fair for you to assert that complaining does no good unless you've actually done so and not gotten anywhere. Anyway, helpful other posts so good luck in your future meat-finding endeavors.

I doubt she wants to see you again either, you must have been a prick to her or she would have been nice back to you. But when you act like you are the best customer they ever had, well you get it. you just sound arrogant and pompous so it is best that you stay out. I don't want to see you there either when I shop there.

GREAT comeback jusme! You really got him good with that idiot comment. And that ilionite stuff, well BRILLIANT. The wit is untamable. BTW,I couldn't agree more with Ilioner. I think you've made it clear how you interact with people on this forum, so in this case seems you got what you deserved in there. No loss for the Village Market. They don't need your business, and we'd just as well not have to stand in line with you. Thanks for moving on. See ya

Our fam. loves steak and the very best is at Melrose. They will cut it as you want and the help is more than friendly. Love the cashier lady. If you do go to Village Market, check all dates. Things don't move there and dust gathers on them. Oh and Melrose has awesome heat and eat dinners already fixed.
