How can you NOT know who owns that land?! There's a parcel number so it should be simple to figure it out.

Riverside County 'solved' their encampment problems by passing out & posting fliers thru out the illegal squatter camps; told the squatters they had 10 days to leave.

After the allotted time the bulldozers and the authorities removed all their tents and belongings. They brought in homeless counselors and advocates just to be nice. End of problem (for awhile).

Newspaper photo shows their camp; not a shade tree to be seen. Poor planning on their part and proof they ain't mentally competent. Maybe the 118 degree summer heat will make the 'problem' go away. I just would not want to be down wind from their summer stench.

I would rather have the illegal campers than the illegal aliens.

yea I agree with both of you actually. The camps are an eye sore no matter what side of the river it is, fires are a risk here bad. But I also would rather have a homeless man than illegals to deal with.

The odd part of the story is that they can't determine who owns the property?! I don't believe that.

There are tract maps, parcel numbers, satellite mapping, detailed computer records, police jurisdictions and 'somebody' is sent a tax bill. "Somebody" owns it.

Another odd thing is the photo shows no hint of shade; a very desirable thing to have if living in the desert. Why live in the blazing sun when the river bottoms at least have shade and coolness?

And yes, I'd take homeless over illegals any day.
