What a load of bs! The a hole was guilty. What really made me sick was the POS son sitting there with the wh@re that broke up the marriage. Guess he was thinking about the money end of it. Sure as heck wasn't his poor murdered mother. Absolutely outrageous. I feel so sorry for the daughter. It took a great deal of courage for her to stand up for her mother.
Self-defense, yeah right! Too bad she didn't stab him where it counted!

Because he was a doctor, he had access to numbing agents. He numbed his leg & secured the spear & rammed into it twice. That's why the entry positions were close to each other.

At least when the daughter "makes her bed and lies in it" she can believe her soul will go to heaven. Kirk won't. He knows he is guilty just as Greg knows he helped Kirk and helped him to cover it up. Pray that someone else does not P*ss the good doc off and he has to kill - er defend himself - again

When it comes to money and pride I think a man will do what he has to do. Even if he numbs up his thigh first - who says it was the spear that made those eensy cuts anyway? Pretty hard to aim an 8 foot spear while supposedly thrusting it "agrressively" at someone. Don't know that the wife had time for spear lessons while running a farm on her own.

If self defense is defined as: at the time lethal force is used, there must be a perceived imminent danger to your life, then he was guilty of murder. I believe the blood evidence showed she did attack first as the only blood on the inside of the pocket was his, but the blood evidence also showed she was lying down when he cut her throat, clearly indicating her attack had been fended off and was no longer a threat to him. I also cannot reconcile the huge time lapse between the incident and the 911 call. I believe he wanted her dead. This guy got away with murder.

There was a gas receipt in Dr. Turner's wallet from the night of Mrs. Turner's death. It was time stamped 7:40PM. Did he kill her, go get gas and come back? Do you really believe everything that you see on TV? 48 Hours is entertainment. The juicer the better, the more viewers. The blood evidence did not show that she was down-that is what the prosecution stated not what Stewart James, leading blood expert in the world, stated. Who should the jurors believe the untrained investigator of Davie County with no training or the man who wrote the blood spatter book written for and used by the FBI?

All the way through his leg? Come on. Try sticking something through your leg sometime. The timeline is off because 48 Hours failed to mention the gas receipt that was time stamped 7:40PM. The DA's office, can you imagine it, ignored the gas receipt. They arrived at the farm at 8:20PM at the earliest.

I love it....it's about time somebody with a Y in their chromosome makeup receives a not guilty verdict in regards to the death of their spouse. Maybe this country finally IS learning that women are just as evil as any man can be. So sick and tired of women and THEIR excuses for self defense and not taking responsibility for their actions. Kudos to this jury.Yay team.

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA v.
KIRK TURNER
Decision Date: August 21, 2009
The defendant Dr. Kirk Alan Turner was acquitted of first degree murder of his wife Jennifer Turner on the grounds of self-defense. Jennifer Turner was found Sept. 12, 2007, with her throat slashed in the shop building of the couple's house on 627 Jack Booe Road. Kirk Turner's defense attorneys argued that he was defending himself after his wife stabbed him twice with a 7-foot Viking-like spear. During the trial, prosecutors argued that Kirk Turner was so angry over a contentious divorce and the lawsuit his estranged wife filed against his girlfriend, Tondja Colvin Woods, that he killed her with a pocketknife. Prosecutors noticed a V-shaped stain on Kirk Turner's T-shirt. They charged Turner with murder, and then turned to the State Bureau of Investigation to help prove their theory: Turner killed her, wiped the knife on his shirt, then staged the scene by ramming the 18-inch blade through his thigh, twice. Bloodstain pattern analysts Gerald Thomas and his mentor, Duane Deaver, embraced the prosecutors' theory. Thomas quietly changed his initial report, which was consistent with self-defense. After a renowned bloodstain pattern expert disagreed with Thomas, Deaver and Thomas conducted unscientific tests to shore up the prosecution. Thomas stuck steadfastly to the story, even after it became clear that he had filed an erroneous account of the crime scene. The jury quickly returned with a non-guilty verdict, many siting fraud on behalf of the SBI false claims.

People who do things like this don't have to "live with" anything because they don't care. That's why we need a justice system that can do its job CORRECTLY and put killers where they belong...in prison. We need to punish killers while they're alive, not wait until they die with hopes of god doing the job.

It's about time somebody with a Y in their chromosome makeup be found not guilty by self defense in the death of their spouse. If this was the other way around and MRS TURNER was the one with spear gashes in her thighs she wouldn't have even been charged, let alone convicted. Again, all i can say is that..... it's about time.

As I have stated on the other forum of this stupid subject the key here is who really gives a sh*t? Only the small minded idiots that think Jerry Springer, COPS and CSI are real. It is old it is over. Some he was defending himself......why wasn't he man enough to handle a woman without weapons. Before you challenge me with the childish crap of "oh I guess you could" You are damn right I could. This whole thing comes down to genes. I haven't met anybody from Davie dumb ass county either by birth or transplant that was an idiot.
