Not sure what I think of this pre-enrolling for the school year. Last nights open house was a mess. It seemed very unorganized. The bus info line was backed up down the hall past the bathroom and it took forever. As far as I know the bus questions were being answered by the teachers and teacher aids, not by the drivers or Bus Barn employees. Some families got menus, but we didn't. There was no one to answer questions regarding lunch reductions. The office referred you to a lady in a different office & building. The office was crowded with people who swear they pre-enrolled but their information was not anywhere to be found so they were having to take time and space to redo this. The front lobby was so crowded with lines it was darn near impossible to get through. I personally would have liked to have gotten the handbook before the day before the first day. They gave us a yellow tag to hang from the car mirror if we were to pick our child up. My problem with this is they didn't enter any information onto this tag and just left it open for anyone to write in whatever name they choose. These tags would also be easily copied. Just doesn't seem real safe to me. Moberly School system is better than this.

Lunch reductions? Turn your internet off and pay full price for kids' lunches just like the rest of us!

Your obviously a dumbass. I would think that you would realize that in this day and age children need access to the internet to help them with their school work. Don't be so self-righteous and look at the big picture. Just because someone needs help with their children's lunch expense doesn't mean they ate not entitled to any extras. Internet is not that expensive.

Well said, you beat me to it! Besides, at $20-30 dollars a month, the internet is cheaper than the movies, saves on long-distance phone bills and is really an ECONOMICAL resource for a family, especially if they are on a tight budget.

Haul the kids to the library a couple times a week and you will have spent your $20-30 on gas/wear & tear easily...so it is SMARTER to have the internet.

Even people that "need help"...which seems to be more and more people in this economy, are smart enough to know when things are unorganized and inconvienent. Hopefully, your comments are read by the school and they can change the system and make it faster. However, I heard the same complaints last year......hope they get it fixed.

There are many people who work that unfortunately still are living in poverty. I guess your blessed enough to not be one of those people. Many instead of passing judgement on people you don't even know you should be thankful for what you have and show a little empathy.

We had problems with First Student at the GBE Open House also!! We decided since the woman they had there to answer questions didn't have a clue,we would just standby the road and if a bus stopped are student would get on and if not we would take him to school!! We live in the country and we had 4 buses go by and the last one stopped at 8am! And the bus that stopped was following another bus going the same direction!! Was damn near funny watching this cluster unfold!!

Want to know what my child's homework was for the first day of school?
They had to get on the internet and go to the schools web page and find out what their teachers first name was. I'm sure this wont be the only time they will have to use it throughout this school year. So see it is expected, you pompous ass.

Should have took him myself! They let anybody with a license drive the damn things!!Tried to call the bus barn and they wouldn't answer the phone!!Time to make a call to the top man at the district office and chew some major butt!!!

Hmmm, so I see you are NOT at a job? At home smoking your cigarettes, drinking your coffee, feeding your pitbulls? ON MY PAYCHECK! Not looking for a job, because you feel like I owe you? Lazy welfare! Or wait, let me guess? You are on disability?

Gottasay you sure are a high and mighty issue. I'm thinking only child, silver spoon baby living on mom and dads money. It's generally the ones that have never had to work and have had everything handed to them that think they are better then the rest.
It's not your fault, I'm sure you were raised that way.

just because someone is home with their child in the evening doesn't mean they don't have a job. I don't know who you are but I'm sure I wouldn't like you. You seem like a very bitter, selfish and judgmental person. I should feel sorry for you.

when you say that damn school they built, if you are talking about the renovations on the high school than YOU dont know what you are talking about when you say they didnt need it. If you have any kids going to that school you would sure as hell know that it was LONG overdue for renovations. Im not happy about paying higher taxes, who would be?! my husband and I both work and were not rich probably dont even qualify for middle class but we own a house and have to pay taxes and still voted yes for those renovations because our communities kids deserve a nice school to attend to get their education.
