Maybe now Moberly can get a city manager that cares if there are jobs in Moberly.

Good luck to Wickenberg I hope he does a better job there than he did here.

As evidenced by letters-to-the-editor, a huge amount of public response and person-on-the-street talk, Gary Edwards will be greatly missed. He was instrumental in turning around a crippled budget, but refuses to take credit for the outcome...instead giving credit to others. He also was a major reason a system is now in place to improve the way the city looks. In the process, he made a lot of people upset because for the first-time homes have to be inspected and cleaned-up. Again, he gives credit to others for these positive accomplishments. Moberly has a very low unemployment rate. It is a job center for all of North-Central Missouri. By the way, the City of Moberly is the only local governmental agency to financially support the local Economic Development Office. This is the office responsible for bringing jobs into the community. Mr. Edwards recommended and the City Council agreed to increase that support this year. All of that was in the local news. He was the only City Manager to conduct a major citizen survey to find out what the local concers are, and has taken steps to address those concerns. The very best of luck to Mr. Edwards.

What jobs are in Moberly right now that will pay a decent starting wage?

When Citi Capital left Moberly Gary Edwards response to KOMU was for those employees to continue to work in Moberly they could get a factory job. A factory job would pay less than what they were currently making, differnt shifts, and invole a differnt enviroment that they are not accustom to. Most of those employees now work in Columbia since there was no to go im Moberly. How long before they move because of rising gas cost.

Before Citi closed is was estimated 17% of Moberly worked in Columbia I would say at least 25% work in Columbia since Citi closed.

Please take him back! He has ruined our Town, and everyone is angry. He tried to close the library, has put good people out of business, and continues to cause more problems daily. We want him gone--any takers?

Mr.Edwards is gone. The man that is our current City Manager is Mr.Morris. SInce your post was on april 2011 and Morris has been the Manager for years--I am guessing that you are speaking of him. If that is the case--I agree. I don't know where Mr.Morris came from but PLEASE, PLEASE, take him back.

When will our City Counsel get a clue? Please save our City--from its own Government!!
