Ate ther tonight and the food was really good and price was right. It didn't taste like old grease like the one on down North Morley does. I recommend it.

Although I haven't been there yet, we really shouldn't make any snap decisions yet. its only been a couple days. But I am curious, is it as cramped the way it was when it was the Mexican place? Jesus Christ.

This guy is Italian not Arabic and they own the one in Kirksville and Mexico, not Macon, and both the ones in Kirksville and Mexico are very clean and serve very good food at affordable prices. I hope they make it here because we need a good place to eat that doesn't close at 2 pm on Sunday afternoon.

My family ate supper there. We all enjoyed it. They offer a large variety of meals. We like the fact they serve breakfast all day but actually ordered burgers and fries. One in our party had taco salad. The portions were nice, taste was fresh, building clean and service excellent. The place was full and seating did seem to be a little close. The coffee was good, and to this crowd that is very important. The owner was present and was friendly enough but was focused on his staff and the operations of things. Of course you check out meals as they come to your neighboring tables. Honestly it all was appealing. I hope this business prospers. It will be nice to have someplace not fast food to eat that is open at later hours, breakfast anytime and isn't overpriced.

I ate there for breakfast. Food was fresh, warm, and good. Fair priced. Everything appeared Clean. Staff was friendly. I don't think the owner took any short cuts, the menu looked very professional, the condiments was name brand, the staff all wore diner 54 shirts. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of view because everywhere I looked there was a wall 3 feet from me. Despite the crappy arrangement of the building structure the food was above the typical Moberly standards.

Ate there last night with my family. My boyfriend and child liked what they ate however I wouldn't reccomend the ribs as I couldn't eat most of it because I couldn't even cut into the meat with my knife let alone tear it apart with my fingers. Our waitress was very friendly as well. Overall I would try it again but NOT the ribs. Not worth all that fight to get a quarter of the meat!

Diner 54, Pre-Opening

Moberly, MO 65270
Critical Violations: None
Non-Critical Violations: Several ceiling light shields in kitchen had water stains on them.
Wall behind steam table had exposed wood.

Haven't ate the food because I could't get past the smoking and the bottom of the barrel help they got. Its only a matter of time before the rest goes south, based on what I saw.

I had no idea smoking was allowed. We had smokers in our setting that never smoked. I never seen any no smoking signs, or ashtrays. No one in the near vicinity was smoking. If smoking was allowed at the time we ate there then I lucked out. I never had to put up with any nasty smells. As far as the waitress we had, I don't know her personally but I do work with her mother. This young lady is finishing up her schooling and going into the service. The waitress serving the table beside us is in college & representing her school in sports. It sounds to me like both of these young ladies have a promising future and sure wouldn't consider them bottom of the barrel.
