thats why you never grew up mmopbucket, cause you never had a good family life for upbrining. To teach you right from wrong, good from bad & in your case changing from the child stage to adulthood. Might take you a while longer!:)

I can tell you that at age seventeen parents pretty much lose all control of a child (and at age seventeen thats what they are, a child). The child can leave if thats what they want, but the parent can't leagally kick them out till they are 18. Todays children have absolutely no idea how good they have it living at home. Remember Moms and Dads the law states you have to provide food and shelter clothing for your kids. That does not include T.V. cell phones, games of any kind, cars, spending money etc etc.

My thoughts, i think i turned out pretty good? Own my own trailer, which by the way is a very nice 1976 double wide. Own my own car, by the way is a 1985 Buick Somerset. Although I just got laid off recently from night clerk job at the porn store! Sucks that it closed! You sound unhappy, u should try some counseling?

In the state of Texas you are considered an adult at 17 years old. There are some issues however. If you are going to move out when you are 17 you must be able to support yourself and have a place to live. You can't be hopping around to Billy's house and Joe's house the next night. You have to have a permanent place to stay. If you are still in school you must continue to go, you must have a form of transportation, and you must be able to support yourself as far as money goes. Of course, you won't be able to get your own apartment because you have to be 18 to sign all the paperwork and such but a friend could do it for you. The age of which you can move out in texas is 17 years of age as long as you tell your parents you are safe and okay.
At 17 the only thing the police can make you do is contact your parents or guardians and tell them that your ok and where your at. They will not force a 17-year-old back home.

At age 17 they can move out, but the parents are still responsible for anything they do. Parents cannot make them come back home. Isn't that just great, you're responsible, but you're not allowed to control them?

When I moved out young years ago this wasn't a problem.

But a couple years ago a friends daughter moved out and started collage (at 17). Most of the utility companies wouldn't let her turn services on. Said she had to be 18.

This is hilarious, by the way. Which, by the way, may be considered my counseling to you.

To the teen on this forum..... Parents suck yes. But guess what sucks worse?.?.? Paying bills, supporting yourself, working to live not just for the thrill of buying yourself a new top... Actually trying to get by is hard. My suggestion you want out?
A. Wait the extra year or get the signature to join the armed forces.

B. Get good grades apply for all scholarships and grants and student loans you can and go to COLLEGE! I know more school is the last thing you might want but think of it as having your own apartment! It's called a dorm!

These are the smart way to go because when you are almost 22 like myself and am just now getting into school and live on my own and pay bills with money I don't have. That sucks WAY more than that 11 o'clock curfew you live by with your parents!

I've been researching the same thing. I've been getting a lot of pages saying you can move out at age 17 in Missouri. Is this true? I just moved from Missouri to Mississippi about two weeks ago. I'm 15 years old and my boyfriend is 16(about to be 17) and wants to move from MO to come live with me as soon as he turns 17. My parents already said he could come live with us, so having a place to stay and support wouldn't be a problem. I'm just worried about his psycho mother.. If he does move up here at age 17, could he get in trouble and have to move back???
