shame on you

there's something that's just not right about all this .. what they say they do and what they're really doing is two different things ...and if its legal why hide the dirt? Why not share your success at finding young women who already have shown their vulnuabilities ..they may be scared or alone in their individual situations ...needing and looking for acceptance or possibly direction or hope ....they are your prey ... you don't build up or support them in their decisions . You take away hopes dreams and self respect .you take them to an even lower place in their life and then you convince them that they have no chance of being a good 'single' parent ..and then in the name of God prospective adoptive parents appear like magic You paint a beautiful picture that has a similar beautiful story of hope and blessings for their selfless decision . When you have what you want they are disgarded and ignored. Yes it is a beautiful testimony until the truth isnt left out. People who know the truth are watching and some of the disgarded are much stronger than you anticipated.

So I read the article via your link and it sounds like a wonderful ministry in Macon & Shelby counties. I guess I'm confused as to what they are doing wrong. Have you experienced the bad treatment personally or has the information of which you post hearsay from another? Has any of the "victims" files complaints? This is the first time I've ever heard of Ray of Hope and I'm not trying to stir stuff...I'm simply confused.

the article is representative of what they publicise..." sounds like" would be correct . the adoptions and the circumstances leading to some are in question ..this too is a very significant part of what they do. The truth that I know to be facts is very concerning ...

Exactly What is questionable. I am not debating you, I am just unsure of your concern. Who is questioning adoption circumstances? Are they stealing money? Stealing kids? Tricking young girls into giving their baby up for adoption? Can you be a little more specific?

It sounds like you are trying to WARN people, but I am not sure.

yes ...certainly a warning ...some young women certainly have been misled ...the adoptions themselves are questionable the biological fathers never being notified before ...open adoptions end up with fine print that keeps them from having contact at all ....programs offered abruptly end when they sign the papers .
.these girls being lied to ..

They don't like questions I know that for a fact. The adoptions are not as ethical so not publicized. I believe they overall concept is a good one. There are some within that are taking it to a level that it shouldn't. I know of the occasions that black couples or single mothers have been turnedaway as well.

Larry and shame on you both seem to have concerns and feel something is not right. Nice if they could give us an inkling...place to start

I went to the article site in the Macon paper. I didn't see any red flags.
I didn't read anywhere about it being some kind of adoption center or even where they promoted young girls to give their babies up so I am confused about what these people are trying to say about this organization. Seems like a legitimate alternative for young scared mothers who don't know what to do or how. It was mostly about the girl Gianna Jessen and her story.

I agree, say what it is you want us to know (from your view point) so we can try to understand or get over it and be quiet.
Thanks,
Wendy

Nicely said agreed.

I have volunteered and been involved in a similar organization..years back. This is a topic close to my heart because of the girls and their struggles. I have given pregnancy tests, counseled, given clothes and diapers to the needy. I am genuinely concerned.

If you need help/investigation...please point us to the right direction. Vunerable girls need to be protected and so do their babies.

There is a child a boy out there somewhere that could be my child This group arranged an adoption that happened in Dec No one contacted me . This isn't the only adoption that has suspicious circumstances. Who are they to lie and say that is their only option? Why do they not publicise the adoptions as they do their other Services??

A man who believes he is the biological father of a child may file a Petition to Establish Paternity. The case is filed in a circuit court where the child or co-parent resides, or where a case involving the child already is pending. Other interested persons permitted by law and the state of Missouri also may file a petition to establish paternity.

Larry--go to this site, fill out these forms and take them to the Randolph county courthouse!
http://www.selfrepresent.mo.gov/ go to LEGAL FORMS
Click on Paternity Forms

Call Randolph County Circuit Clerk's office for questions or go over there, they might have the forms for you to fill out and help you ! Good luck.

If this is the case Larry I do think you have rights. I would call an attorney to make sure and find out exactly what your rights are.
If the mother gave the child up w/o your consent or giving you first chance at raising it no matter what the circumstances of your relationship then I think you might be able to file charges against her. I don't think that's legal.
Didn't they appeal the Wade vs. Roe law? Call a lawyer and find out dude.
I hope you find the baby. I hope it turns out the way you wish it. If you do manage to get him back please take good care of him! Otherwise make sure he has a happy home and let him be.

That's all I want If he is mine I want the opportunity to be his father. I was told she was advised NOT to notify me by her mentor with this ray of hope organization
