How come the Moberly Monitor stopped printing job classifieds on their online paper? Is this another way for them to save money or is this lazyness?

I have read alot about people from Moberly in the Columbia papers and the St Louis papers. Its a shame that the Moberly paper protects the whos who of Moberly. Just to show most of them are dishonest!

Yeah if you want to hear the truth about Moberly, read the Columbia Tribune. Of course Moberly's Editor serves on many Moberly Boards. Ya know, rubbin noses with all the important people.

the monitor sucks! they pick & choose what they print. when you have something that needs to be done, the girl in the front, i think the editor's daughter is rude as hell. like she has much to be doing, it's not like she is working for the la times, it is the monitor index, geez! but she is rude and it pisses me off, if you walk in there, she takes a big deep sigh like "what the hell are you doing in here?", i dread every time i have to go in there. AND as for proofreading? don't they have spell check, come on! some of this stuff you could send into jay leno and get some laughs. moberly monitor, so sad

I would just like to hear the truth. You steal money from anyone, or any committee your in the paper. You steal money and have ties to the prosecuting attorney, better not even think about printing that one. Its A NEWSPAPER, PRINT THE NEWS!! Whatever it may be!

Newspapers care much more about getting ads than providing news. The Index has been notorious for not editing out duplication, puncutation, etc., and most know that if you type up an article on almost anything they'll print it. And why does the entire Cunningham family have to be on its payroll?

Because they want to be like the orchseln family! New business's can't even get in here unless they go through Orscheln, you think they care about the growth of Moberly? Hell no, as long as their families are rich and secure, they can care less.

Your right people are asking way to much of the monitor index! I mean who really excepts a newspaper to report accurate news.

Wake up to what has been going on at that paper for years.

I have and did, I moved! Also, since when has any news been accurate? Do you have any idea what is really going on in the world, or did you forget we are at war? All news is driven from politics, or what side they agree with. I don't agree with with all the stuff printed either, but it's all the same.

In sort of a related topic, I've talked to people who are investors in the proposed race track at the 63/22 Jct, and they are saying that the powers that be in Randolph Co will do whatever they can to keep the track from being built. They say the same thing happened when the existing track on 24 East was built. As some are saying, if it's an Orscheln project, nothing can stop it even though it looks like a majority of Moberly's vacant business properties or related to the "Big O." Strange.

I think you totally missed my point. Moberly's paper seems to "miss" stories involving certain people or business in the area and a lot of people are tired of it. While the news may be politics it does not excuse there behavior.

I think I go the drift and believe I mentioned sometime ago the big stink among Moberly bigwigs regarding dope, etc., that we had to buy copies of the Columbia Tribune to know anything about. Otherwise, the Index has always thought that when J. W. Ballinger, Carolee Hazlett, and other "VIPs" went to the potty, that should be headline news. It's always been the case that you could type your own article and they'd print it, sometimes copies of the same article on facing pages. No, the Index is a big joke, but you have to be careful in bragging on say the Tribune or Missourian, the latter, especially, being a fire truck chaser that doesn't seem to care whether they have all the facts or not before printing something. I don't know what's worse -- hiding news from the public or jumping the gun and reporting slanted or premature bits. Your guess is as good as mine.

I think we all agree the index sucks, no one is arguing that but other papers do a much better job. I never said anything about the missourian and you DO have to read the tribune if you want to know what is going on in Moberly that the Index does not print.
