Anyone remember the parties he threw his employees up hwy c north of huntsville when the coal mine was running? The entertainment he flew in for the party? He was a good boss to work for, I drove a truck hauling coal for him nearly 15 years. No paycheck bounced, and no hanky panky went on. Later he got involved in some cattle scheme after the mine closed, but who gives a shit. Did it involve me? No! Did it involve you? Do you know the facts? NO, not only No but Hell No! so quit your whining and judging. Almost everyone is a felon at one point in thier life, it is just that people like you complaining about him have never been caught. As far as hime oweing granny or your mother some back pay......I say that she did something to deserve not getting that check! Like embezzeled off him or stole off him or broke a employment rule.......two sides to every story. He is a good man that has made a boat load of money, good or bad, he will answer for himself one day, not to none of you wanna be millionares here in Randolph County, your the joke. You probably sell your food stamp money to buy meth and you have the time and gull to critize him and throw him under the bus? I bet you don't concern him in the least, he is above you several steps on the food chain. No he isn't innocent by a long shot, but why should you care? Maybe jealousy? Quit dippin in his Koolaid and mind your own......

Nope nope nope, the reason he owes my mother money is because she would not help him screw people over thank you very much. And by the way most of her pay check would bounce and he would have to end up paying her cash out of his own pocket. Idk about anyone else one here but my mother and him actually ended up going to court over this whole thing. So please dont judge my mother and say she was involved in any wrong doing. She is a damn good sales rep and thats why people love her. She is honest and gets Shi* done.

Floyd is a decent guy. Did he make mistakes? Sure he did, but who among us hasn't. He does have some heart related issues but he served his time and was released on good behavior and because his crimes were non violent and not drug related.
As for the girl and the boob job, it wouldn't surprise me, but so what! Its his money he can spend it how he chooses. Everyone likes a nice set of boobs and if Floyd thought it would make her happier I can see him paying for them.
And you people realize his wife comes from money don't you? She funds several of his projects.
As for employees being wronged by him.... well its no secret how he's done business in the past so they've obviously made a conscious decision to be employed with the risk of possibly missing out on a paycheck one day.
I say let the man be. He paid his debt to society.
take care

Really? that may be your perspective...but I can tell you from personal experience that he caused alot of heartache for many. He took down some very nice people when ferco went down. He was dumping hazardous chemicals into local creeks, his accountant that did the taxes and payroll had to hire an attorney to defend himself due to the check to the IRS bouncing. He was told because his signature was on the return it made him responsible even if flyod drained the acccount all of the money was in (to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars) and put it in a swiss bank account. So then all of his employees werent able to be paid and the IRS got involved. He should have been in prison much longer than he was and much sooner. so your cupcake and puppy dog rainbow view of him is quite biased jerk.

Floyd is a great guy and would never do anything to hurt anyone! I bet you if you asked to borrow money from him or if you needed something, he would be there to help you, not hurt you. He pays for his employees to get massages when they are stressed, he is very thoughtful and does no harm.
I think you guys are jealous of his money and clout, just sayin.

Floyd was and is a CROOK.
He lied, cheated and stole. The only reason he did
Not steal from a few select people, is that they had nothing he wanted to steal.
He would make up false Serial Numbers, sell equipment he did not own. He is would steal parts
off of machines that were not his--
He is a sociopath

I worked for the guy for a year or two in the late 90s. Many of the points made here are true;
Was he a nice guy to be around? Sure, most of the time.
Was he a decent employer? Sure, most of the time, as is true with any locally owned small business. He could be a tyrant at times too.
Did he do nice things for employees? Sometimes. I was one of the people that he gave one of his massages to, and like a previous poster stated, he did that because he wasn't able to keep his scheduled appointment. Additionally, at that time the masseuse was renting "office" space from him, and he was buying lots of massages to help her get her business going. Maybe even bartering for the rent. And nope... I didn't get a happy ending :P
He often gave incentives and perks to employees - concert tickets, vacation packages, sports tickets, nice meals. Sure, he could be a great guy.
Did Floyd do shady stuff in his business dealings? For sure. How do I know? Because he asked me to forge a signature on a transfer or some such form once, so it wouldn't be in his handwriting.
Through all of that, I heard the stories, and always knew there was a chance of not getting paid, but I always did. Even when he levied a challenge with the reward of a hefty bonus, he paid me the bucks when I achieved it.
If I had needed help, and my need was within reason and something Floyd could help me with, I genuinely think he would have done it. I think working for Floyd is what another poster said - a job in a town with limited options. I wouldn't consider it a career, because there is always the chance of not getting paid, or a FBI raid, but it pays the bills if you have the right expectations and understandings.
I worked with a great group of people there, too. And sadly, as has also been commented, he took advantage of some employees where he thought he could get away with it, because he sensed the victims lacked the resolve, resources, personality, or social skills to do much about it.
I've long since left the area, but if I were visiting and saw Floyd, I would go over and say hello. And I am sure in doing so I would walk by at least one person who secretly wanted to punch him in the eyeball. That's the charm of Moberly... And Floyd E Riley!
