Thoughts and prayers to those poor children in ct. God bless them all. What is wrong with america? No the anti gun people will blame the gun. Its people who kill people not the guns. But that isnt important now. RIP young ones taken too early

Typically it's people with guns that kill people, and when john q. citizen can have an AR-15 that carries 30 rounds, they can kill a lot of them. Why is it that it's not ok for people to talk about gun control measures right now, but it's perfectly acceptable for people to start rushing to defend their precious guns.

If there were no guns, there would be no shooting deaths. Seems pretty simple, really.

So it stands to reason, that if there were fewer guns, there would be fewer shooting deaths.

I don't see how anyone can argue against that logic.

True but criminal minds will get guns no matter what. Outlawing assult weapons fine but we are constitutionaly allowed the.right to bear arms. So while the logic of getting rid of all guns sounds great it impossible and the only people to turn in there guns would be law abiding citizens not joe criminal. So with no guns we would be defenseless

True, I was trolling just a bit. We can't outlaw all guns, limiting or controlling them would be very difficult as well.

I saw something, somewhere, where an off duty marine took it upon himself to stand guard outside of a elementary school, to make the kids feel safer. I think something like that could help. Maybe enlist the help of the national guard or other military. Maybe they could rotate so we always have at least one armed military person standing guard at all public schools at all times.

@ Cheech- Totally agree, that perhaps could be a great idea.

If we take guns from law abiding citizens then only criminals will have them and they don't obey the law. Yes we need to have some form of security at our schools. We have armed guards at airports, malls, parking garages ext... so why don't we protect our children?
I think "special" qualified teachers should carry a concealed weapon. Annual training and so many teachers per however big the school is. Not just any idiot teacher who hasn't got sense enough to have one but there are level headed teachers who already have the ccw and an extra class on how to protect students would help.
You cannot take guns from the general public because of the evil people out there, you will leave a bunch of innocent victims as targets.
Guns don't kill people, people kill people and they will do so with whatever they need to get the job done. It's unfortunate that we live with such evil but it's a fact so do not leave us unprotected with your fear of guns. Guns don't kill, people kill.
It's not rocket science!

Why not? Obama is using it as an example to get the 2md amendment taken away? Is it ok for him to do it and not the responsible gun owners? I agree all criminals or mentally unstable should not have them but the rest of us need to be able to protect our selves, homes and children.
What happened was horrible but if one law abiding citizen had been around to use his/her conceal and carry, this conversation wouldn't even be happening. Yes I think it's a damn shame Obama is using this to further his agenda.
I've prayed for the families and the victims. Time for this to stop.
