If you go to the monitor index and read this story, I have to agree with the comment--that this coach didn't want to tarnish his record. I think it's also sad the the Older Knights team is not playing either. I"m sure some of those kids may have been interested in playing on the Sixers team...maybe like the comment made, this guy didn't want to deal with the not-so-good players...Not saying the Knights team was bad, but that was the impression he gave that noone would be good enough to play on the team that HE had coached for 15-17 years...

This is a sad thing. Bruce has done a great job and has given so much of his time working with the baseball league. He has left some of these young men with many good memories. Thank you Bruce for all your hard work and dedication.

Yes , I agree. The volunteer has sure put in his time helping these young men . As I read into the story it sounds like he is just protecting some of the pitchers arms and looking out for the welfare of the kids; but then you see where they play over 40 games and that's coming right after HS basebal; you wonder how many pitchers are really needed ? Maybe more then he has been playing.A person could say it keeps the kids busy
and out of trouble and that maybe true. If so lets keep the team and get more kids out. Again hats off to the volunteer for helping out for 15 yrs.

Yes, Rick was the number two pitcher. Little bro Tim would make an occasional appearance as lefty relief. And Jim Heathman. He would toe the slab from time to time as well.
