There are so many students that attend VVHS that have no discipline, no work ethics, no idea of what the real world has waiting for them, or motivation to learn. They disrespect their teachers, and do not follow instructions, or the rules. Their only motivation is to be "cool" with their fellow students and to have fun. They come to class unprepared to study. They have no books with them or other required materials. They have no intention of learning. They are completely un motivated while in school. This profile includes about 50% of the school population. In order to correct this situation, teachers must have the ability to utilize more discipline than currently exists. Students do not realize what fate they will face once they leave VVHS (many of them wiuthout a diploma). Rather than teach them subjects such as Algebra (a subject that they do not have the desire or aptitude to learn or will ever use in real life) they should be able to concentrate upon career training such as automobile mechanics, office training, or gardening - for example).
