it's time to clarify whatthe military does and does not do. the militarydoes not ''protect us.'' if the military ''protects us,'' why are so many americans buying firearms? according to federal statistics, 13,100 americans were victims of homicide in 2011. if the military ''protects americans,'' why are thousands of americans mordered, raped, robbed and kidnapped every year? you wouldn't go to a crime-infested area unarmed and say, oh, if i get in trouble, the military will save me.'' the military also does not either fight or defend our ''freedoms.'' the obama administration is trying to pass section 1021 of the hideous ''national defense authorozation act, which says the government can send the military to indefinetely detain americans citizens. that's crazy, not to mention clearly unconstitutional. our government is a growing threat to our ''liberties.'' even the constitution is no longer constraining them. why would the government want to detain american citizens indefinetely without charges? that sounds like something out of a dictatorship. and of course the military is employed by and takes orders from the government. far from fighting fror your ''freedom,'' they will be the ones coming to put you in chains and take you to the gulag. i don't think the government would actually risk the specatcle of having armed soldiers arrest american citizens ad throw them in the dungeon without charge. more than likely, it's a scare tactic and also a government reaching for more power. the founding fathers understood human nature and wroye safeguards in the constitution for this, but increasingly the government is ignoring the constitution. any american who is armed should shoot soldiers if they atempt to arrest them. if someone has commited a crime, charge them in civilian court and set a trail date. for god's sake, stop this ''hold american citizens indefinetely as long as we want bullshit. obama is the president, not the damn tyrant of america. they do not have the power to hold american citizens for an indefinete period and if they ever try this crap, all americans should take up arms and revolt. i don't give a damn what the government's lawyers say. the military doesn't defend us or our ''freedom,'' such as we still have it. most of the recent wars/occupations they have participated in have been of dubious vaule to americans while costing billns which could have been better spent elsewhere. the iraq war/occupation cost almost 5,000 dead americans, thosands wounded and nearly a trillion dollars and didn't do one iota for this country. iraq today is a mess. george w. bush and his adminstration should have been prosecuted for that mess. americans thanking the military for their b''freedoms'' are just showing how ignorant they are.
