Sam Haley Rose, 57, remains on the lam after failing to appear at a scheduled court date in Flathead County.
The felony warrant for revocation of suspended or deferred sentence, signed Jan. 30 in Kalispell, has bond set for $10,000 for Rose, who was last seen in Libby.
“It’s a valid warrant,” said Debbie Johnson, a Flathead Sheriff’s office representative.“But as for updates or sightings, we haven’t had any.”
Rose, a bail-jumping critic of the Montanore project, was captured last April in Boise, Idaho, by a bail bondsman. He was the founder of Alternative One, an anti-Montanore group.
He was arrested Nov. 30, 2011, on a warrant for forged checks in Flathead County. He posted bail, and skipped to Idaho, where he was arrested at a Cheesecake Factory while trying to meet with an online date.
Rose has used many aliases, including Dave Griffin, Harold P. Mattsman, Sam Alexander Rose and Sam Haley Rose. He changed his name legally to the latter moniker and is wanted in several states for forgery. He faced up to 20 years and a fine up to $50,000 before his most recent bail jump.
His wife, who goes by the name Lynne Haley Rose and Lynne C Rose had no comment for this story. No one from AlternativeOne responded to a request to comment.
