relocating

We are from the midwest and have discussed relocating to the Missoula area. We have visited there many times and really like the area. We have looked at renting a home for the first year to make sure everyone adapts before buying. How in the world can anyone rent a home at the prices that are being requested? Really?$1000-$1500 a month for a 3 bedroom!!! Are all the landlords that greedy or does everyone make $20-$25 a hour? We are both self employed and money is not the issue. Our biggest concern is how do people survive and are there a lot of homeless families and empty houses because of the seemingly high prices? Thanks and any educated feedback would be appreciated.

I was wondering the same thing because we are about to be moving to the area as well. I have been looking online and I am shocked at the prices and on top of the already high rent it costs more every month for pets. I can tell its gonna be a challenge finding something in a decent area for under 1000.00 a month that had any kind of room and isn't a match box.

Good luck to ya. We have checked craigslist and called a couple rental agenicies and those prices seem to be the norm out there. Like I said in our previous post we are both self employed and right now money isn't the issue but if we have to pay nearly double what we are paying now then money would definetly be a factor and we aren't gonna live like that. Out of curiosity we looked at the job postings out there and it seems even the jobs don't pay as good as they do here so how normal people survive is beyond me. It doesn't add up. Guess everyone there either drive mopeds or work multiple jobs just to pay rent. If you come across any agencies that don't want everything you make on your paycheck let us know. Thanks.

Have you looked on zillow? We are only gonna be there a few years as he is in the military so we will move again. But I have contacted a realtor and am planning in going through them to find a rental. Plus we are also looking up to a 30 to 45 minute drive and I found that far out they get a little cheaper.
