City of Ocean Springs may owe school district $542,000 in delinquent tax fees

Recently, the Ocean Springs Board of Aldermen asked the city's school district to pick up the $37,000 yearly tab to school crossing guards, as well as some $40,000 for what they say is the district's share of the county's fee for collecting ad valorem taxes each year.

This is going to be interesting to watch. So they've been holding this over the district's head but it looks like the district may have a "Sword of Damocles" hanging over the city's head.

Hey, guess that overpriced cop/fire station wasn't worth it & all the debt taken out to finance it -- was it?

Changing the character of the city into a drunk city slash artsy fartsy city wasn't worth it when you cut your own tax base's throat -- was it? lololol
