Better than 80% of voters who pay no taxes and stand to get something for nothing approve of this plan. Good for them - more freebies at the expense of productive people. I'm sure this will bring everyone down to the same level. Good stuff.
On the bright side, maybe it'll force the Federal govt to address our porous borders. We can't afford to give freebies to the entire world, so we're going to need to get control over the influx of new citizens.
They want a new influx. Since the bill excludes them, they are pushing through legislation to make them legal. This is the crap you ignorant liberals voted for.

Odd comment. considering almost everyone that lives near me is an AARP member and is very much against this bill, do you always tell lies ?, or is it just natural ?.

Theres freeloaders in Olathe, Overland Park, Blue Springs, Independence, Liberty and everywhere in between..Lets make sure we include EVERYONE when we speak of popping out 5 kids and living on welfare. Its not just in the inner cities of America, Go to any small town in America and you'll see the same things..Watch MTV's "TeenMom" and you'll see the same things from all people. No baby fathers around. Also understand that alot of people on welfare WORK, and just dont make enough to make ends meet. STOP JUDGING EVERYONE ON GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE..the last time I checked, BUSH Gave government assistance to the CEO's of the world, not the people who actually need it. Blah, Blah, Blah, you pay taxes, SO DO I. Hell, If my tax money can go to help someone WHO ACTUALLY IS TRYING AND NEEDS HELP HERE IN AMERICA,,its better than it going to some European country. If you dont like OBAMA.....MOVE, go to Mexico or go to Europe. You will have him for the next 7 years so quit the whining about how he wants to bankrupt you and take all your rights away. If the man did do something to help you people, you still wouldnt give him the credit. I love the way he handles this country and after 8 yrs of BUSH/CHENEY devilish ways and tatics, its refreshing to have a president who actually will get some things done, even without the support of the soon to be defunct Republican Mess of a Party.

I am lucky enough to have health insurance through my work. And I agree that something needs to be done to the insurance companies and the way they do business. But what I don't understand is why I should support this form of "reform". All I see that is going to happen is my insurance premiums and copays are going to go through the roof just so the crack whore who lives down the street and her 5+ kids can get healthcare for free!! She already is on welfare and foodstamps that I have to pay for through taxes, and she also has no intention of trying to get a real job and trying to take take care of herself as long as the government is there to bail her out.
Mike. This bill only punishes the health insurance companies who do not control the rising costs of health care itself. That is not a good deal for the people who already have insurance, and as we know 270 million or more people in the USA are covered. There is no reason to think we can tell them they have to take on preexisting conditions and such without doing something that actually lowers the cost of health care itself. Premiums don't drive health care costs. Health Care costs drive premiums. This is just one of many, many things that make this bill a bad bill and why so many perceive it as an attempt to take over the insurance industry in an effort to step closer towards a Single Payer system. The way this bill was handled is a complete and absolute abuse of power by the Federal Government.

You do know that the "freeloaders" already have healthcare paid by the gov, right?
This reform is for those that are trying...they don't qualify for gov. assistance but can't find affordable health care.
Yes we know that, and that is the reason the costs of health care is so high. But then to the point, do you believe it will should be mandatory for everyone to buy it? It is mandatory already for everyone to buy Medicare and Social Security, and the negative effect of it is no less than 18 trillion less in wealth than we would have built up among the PEOPLE which in the long term is permanent wealth, because it would get passed from generation to generation and keep growing.

For all the angry nay sayers, "it's a good thing you had the savvy to select the right parents, country, etc., or were you all just lucky to be born with all that super intelligence?"
Maybe not the best plan, but better then what we had.

Some things in this country are really screwed up. We now have a Kenyan President, the census taking is done by the White House and Health of our nation's citizens will be administered by the IRS. HELLO!!!!
IF Obama can show us his birth certificate than all will be great. But If he can not come up with this certificate than all is canceled. Why is it so hard for him to get this document?
I can get mine in 2 to 4 weeks if lost. Hospital certificate is a no go it has to be a state certificate and not Hawaii his grandparents were not living there in the early 60 they moved here later. He's young shouldn't be a problem.

Somehow I have a feeling your not kidding (good grief) FYI, Boston Tea Party, 1773. In the contest between British Parliament and the American colonists before the Revolution, Parliament, when repealing the Townshend Acts, had retained the tea tax, partly as a symbol of its right to tax the colonies, partly to aid...etc.

This bill is a disaster and will bankrupt us faster. We can't even cover Medicare and Social Security now but with this added to it we will crash within ten years if not sooner, then there will be nothing for anyone. Obama is an evil doer who is stealing our freedom. He MUST be stopped
