Typical Eurocentric ignorance and arrogance

The Moors, were originally a black skinned people from Africa hence the expression black as a Moor, the blackface Moor or blacking up as a Moor.

You must suffer from historical amnesia like ALL the brainwashed descendants of Euro-slavers and Euro-colonialists.

What you need is complete brain wash with a strong detergent

The history of Blacks did not start with our enslavement or colonization by White people.

ETYMOLOGY OF THE WORD SLAVE

The word slave comes from the Slavs, a European ethnic group, aka the eternal race of slaves. Even today, thousands of Slavic women are human and sex trafficked across the globe.

SLAVERY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A PARTICULAR RACE

Slavery has nothing to do with race or technological advancement. The powerful and rich enslave the weak and the poor if society does not protect them.

THE MOST FAMOUS SLAVES IN THE WORLD ARE, IN FACT, EUROPEANS (AKA WHITES).

Europeans were slaves under different appellations in Africa and Asia.

1) JANISSARIES: The Janissaries were infantry Musketeer units that formed the Ottoman sultan's household troops and bodyguards. The force was created by the Sultan Murad I from Christian boys levied through the devşirme system from conquered countries in the 14th century and was abolished by Sultan Mahmud II in 1826 in the Auspicious Incident.

2) MAMLUKS: A Mamluk was a soldier of SLAVE origin, who were predominantly Cumans or Kipchak and later Circassian and Georgian.Over time, Mamluks became a powerful military caste in various Muslim societies. Particularly in Egypt, but also in the Levant, Iraq, and India, Mamluks held political and military power.

3) SAQALIBA: The term refers to the Slavs, particularly Slavic slaves and mercenaries in the medieval Arab world, in the Middle East, North Africa, Sicily and Al-Andalus.

4) BARBARY SLAVES: Moors and Arabs located in the Barbary Coast (North Africa) captured more than 1 million slaves from Europe. They were pirates who attacked European villages and ships. The most daring even attacked American ships. There were slaves markets in North Africa where Europeans were sold.

5) PUNIC SLAVES: The Empire of Carthage temporarily held a portion of Europe. Defeated White warriors sent to slavery in Africa.

6) MOREAN SLAVES: Morean Greeks slaves were brought to Egypt and sold on public markers as late as 1828.

I care! History is distorted because of idiots like you making it seem like race doesn't matter when it does, you're just mad because people of color brought education to dumb ass races and then they make it seem like in "present day" every one else has all the knowledge, without the moors you couldn't dream of putting together a complete sentence. Thank you!

The people who know the Moors of Spain best are not Shakespeare, or English tourists of the last century and certainly not African Americans who cannot even tell you from which countries their OWN grans came from but the people of Spain and the people of North Africa from where the
Moors came.

1. SPAIN Well Spaniards call the North Africans (the Berber and Arab Moors) "MOROS" and the sub-Saharans "NEGROS"

2. NORTH AFRICA North Africans call Black People "ABID" which literally means "SLAVES"

I think that explains it all, doesn't it?

How many times do we have to tell you that I am not African American

I perfectly know where my ancestors came from as I live in Africa as an indigenous African

As for you, you are lying as usual and you are drowing in perpetual denial about the blackness of the original Moors (unmixed and pre-Muslim).

Only the truth expels the myth of a lie.

The word Moor was used across ancient and medieval Europe for people of darker skin color, HISTORICALLY for Ethiopians, Egyptians and Berbers and LATER generalized for all black skinned Africans.

The word Moor IS AN EARLY ENGLISH TERM FOR N@GRO and was used a a synonym for n@gro during the Middle Ages (and even before); the same for its equivalents in other European languages

Moriaan in Dutch
Maure in French
Morien in old French
Murzyn in Polish
Mavros in Greek
Moro in Spanish or Italian
Mohr in German

Ethiopia used to be known as the Land of the Moors during the Middle Ages

Biologist John Baker (1974) explains: The association of dark skin with the name of 'Moors' resulted eventually in the same term being applied to N@grids."

Ignoring the etymology of the word moor makes history illiterate.

http://www.etymonline.com/index.php...
Moor (n.)

BEING A DARK PEOPLE IN RELATION TO EUROPEANS, THEIR NAME IN THE MIDDLE AGES WAS A SYNONYM FOR N@GRO;"

LATER (16c.-17c.) used indiscriminately of Muslims (Persians, Arabs, etc.) but especially those in India.

http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k6360787...

http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/ancient/anc-na...

And I have heard this man say that beyond the country which he ruled there was no habitation of men, but desert land extending to a great distance, and that beyond that there are men, not black-skinned like the Mauretanii, but very white in body and fair-haired.

http://www.1902encyclopedia.com/M/MAU/maureta...

Mauretania, or Maurusia, as it was called by Greek writers, unquestionably signified the land of the Mauri, a term still retained in the modern name of Moors, and probably meaning originally nothing but "black men."

http://bridgingcultures.neh.gov/muslimjourney...

In the Latin Middle Ages, Mauri referred to a mixture of Berbers and Arabs inhabiting the coastal regions of Northwest Africa.

In Spain, Portugal, and Italy, Mauri became Moros (Maures in French).

More commonly, however, it was a racial designation for dark-skinned or black peoples, as in its English usage, which is seen as early as the fourteenth century.

Since the mid-twentieth century, the term has fallen out of use and carries racial connotations.

MOOR originally meant black. All early eyewitnesses described moors as negroes or mulatoes (tawny moors).
