My car was taken there on a friendís recommendation after the electrical system went out. Before my car was even looked at, I called to give Carl my warranty information Ė I have an extended warranty that covers almost all repairs on my car. Carl estimated the total repair cost at $100-200, but didnít call my warranty company. A few days later, he said he had done $400-500 worth of work on my car, even though he couldnít identify what was wrong with the car. I asked him again if he had contacted my warranty company. He refused to do so, claiming that he knew the problem would not be covered Ė even though he said he didnít know what the problem was! In that $400-500 was $130 for a new battery, and other repairs which he was not clear in explaining to me. I felt uncomfortable with the fact that $400-500 worth of repairs had been done to my car without my prior notice or authorization, and because he flat-out refused to call my warranty company. When I tried to understand what he had done to my car and why he wouldnít call my warranty company, he became stubborn and impossible to deal with. He talked over me when I tried to calmly ask questions, and he even walked away from me during the conversation. He did a lot of posturing and talking down to me. I really felt like he was trying to take advantage of me and that he had been dishonest during the whole process (every other repair shop I have ever taken a car to has called for authorization to do repairs over the estimated cost). I said I wasnít comfortable paying for the repairs that I hadnít authorized, and that I would like him to explain the repairs to me. At this point, he got even crankier with me and took out the parts he had replaced on my car. After my car was taken to a dealership for repairs, the entire repair was completely covered by my warranty, even though Carl swore up and down that it wouldnít be. The dealership was able to actually identify the problem, fix it and get it done under my warranty. Also, my battery tested fine and the dealership said I didnít need a new one. Iím so grateful that I got my car out of that repair shop in one piece, and had it repaired at a dealership that was honest and up-front with me about my car. Having my car at Caseyís Auto Repair was the worst car repair experience Iíve ever had. I still donít know why he refused to call my warranty company.

Your car was towed in with a melted charging system wiring harness & fuse block. I was told by your husband that the car had been needing jumpstarts for over a week. I explained to him that certain repairs would have to be made to properly diagnose the car. I did the minimal repairs and explained to him that I would like you to drive the car over the weekend to make sure all of the problems were corrected before we called the warranty company. I never asked you to pay one dime for any repairs that I made because we weren't sure all of the problems were fixed and how much your warranty company would pay. When you came in to pick up your car I tried to explain all of this to you but I simply could not. I deal with extended warranty companies all of the time and they all want the same thing it is called the 3 C's complaint, cause & correction. Not all repairs are as simple as that. Some repairs require parts replacement before accurate diagnosis can be made. While I explained this to your husband before I did anything I could not get thru to you. I am sorry I lost my patience with you but after several attempts I could see the writing on the wall and thought it would be better if you just took your car elsewhere. I never asked you for one dime before or after our meeting. I am happy for you that you got your car repaired and I wish you well.

Caseys is the best place to do business with. We have had several cars worked on there with great results and resonable prices. I can think of no better honest respectable people to have my vehicles repaired by. I'll bet there is more to the story you give than we have heard about. You sound like a difficult person who has trouble dealing with complex situations

I'm the "friend." And while I'm sorry Kate felt so awful about her experience, I can only say that this does not sound at ALL like any of OUR experiences with Carl Casey. Carl is honest, his work is excellent, and his prices are quite good. All I can say is that I'm glad Carl is my mechanic. And I'm hurt that Kate felt the need to trash him.

$70 to say there is not anything wrong with a car. The car died 3 times trying to make it 2 miles to his shop. He drove it, said nothing was wrong with it, and then charged $70. RIPOFF!! HE DID NOTHING!! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, and charged $70. He is a RIPOFF, be aware!
