If the average person had had about four home invasion robberies in the last year, your point would be valid. But the truth is one has a greater risk of catapulting off a cliff in an out of control car than of being terrorized by cartoon villians like Mickey Mouse's "Beagle Boys" with their opera masks climbing in second story windows to steal silverware. This leaves a plethora of loaded guns lying about and dimbuls with paranoid ideations in control of them.
The gun dealer is no different from the drug pusher or tobacco executive; he seeks to sell you something you don't need which does you more harm than good.
As long as there`s even a remote chance of a home invasion, being prepared is always prudent. Ask the families of the victims of the Carr brothers. That tragedy was preventable, had the victims been prepared and armed. A false sense of security breeds disaster sometimes.

Who the phork are the Carr Brothers?

The chances are about as remote as a hurricaine making a landfall in the Gulf of Kansas.

Private ownership of firearms is a need only of the fearful and the paranoid.

The Carr brothers are both on death row in Kansas for the home invasion and brutal executions of 4 or 5 and severe wounding (head shot) of another victim. All were teachers in their 20`s. A picture of one hangs on the wall in Coach`s. It was a remote chance, but it happened. There`s a huge difference between fear and paranoia and assuming responsibility for the safety of one`s self, friends, and family. We are guaranteed that right by law. End of story.

You have a right to possess firearms but it's not a wise choice to do so.

Big win for gun-rights groups: Federal appeals court tosses state ban on carrying concealed weapons

By Dave McKinney on December 11, 2012 11:21 AM

SPRINGFIELD - In a huge win for gun-rights groups, a federal appeals court in Chicago Tuesday tossed the state's ban on carrying concealed weapons and gave Illinois' Legislature 180 days to craft a law legalizing concealed carry.

"The debate is over. We won. And there will be a statewide carry law in 2013," said Todd Vandermyde, a lobbyist for the National Rifle Association.

In a split opinion (see below), the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a lower court ruling in two cases downstate that upheld the state's longstanding prohibition against carrying concealed weapons.

Illinois is the only state with an outright prohibition on concealed carry.

I can't imagine this will sit very well with our Pres.

People use guns to kill. It is impossible to "rid our world of killing tools" since anything can be used to kill people. If people started running over crowds of people with cars are you going to push for a car ban? It's simple minded idiots like yourself that think making new laws will have some sort of effect of people that don't obey laws to begin with. You honestly think someone with the intent to harm someone is looking up the state and federal laws before doing so? How do you find the door to get out of the house in the morning?

Guns kill pure and simple the constitution is a fluid document so ammend it now and save lives. You really believe that banning guns would not save lives? You don't think the ease of accesibility creates the opening for people who just snap? Obviously you aint too smart because banning guns will save lives ammending the constitution will save lives. How many people will die be banning guns? A whole lot less goofus doofus my gun cold dead hands fanatics!

I agree BAN GUNS NOW. Why don't these crazies start ambushing NRA events so the gun lovers and the other end of the rainbow nut jobs can play cowboys and leave the innocents alone. Problem solved.

How many innocent citizens were saved by having a gun? How many innocent people and children have died from gun shot. You long dong john are unbelieveably short sighted biased and blinded by your love to hear things go boom. Your right to hear something go boom should not and will not be more important than human lives. 5 years watch the news cry the blues shoot your little fire cracker and run your mouth and within 5 years we will have the constitution ammended.

So you say making guns illegal will keep them off the streets then why dont we make cocaine, heroin, and meth illegal? There are any number of legal things being sold at every corner store that kill more people than any gun ever will.
Yes it is tragic what happened today and I feel for the parents and children but there is one thing that cannot be blamed on the gun the blame goes on the person who pulled the trigger.
It is simple if you smash your finger while driving in a nail is it the hammers fault or your fault for missing? The gun did not kill anyone the person behind it did. Speaking of hammers they can be used to kill and mame as well should we ban them too???

The liberal mindset coddles the criminal. Kids are not held responsible. The bad people are the product of their society and therefore absolved of any guilt. No discipline in schools. The kid can say, fuck you, to the teacher and get away with it. There are no consequences.

Honest people have to fear what they do to the bad guy because they might get charges filed against them. It's been turned upside down by the liberal mindset.
