Selectmen and the Bristol Dump

Now that I live in Maine, I have no idea whether the Bristol dump is now in Bristol. I think it was in South Alexandria when I lived there. It seemed as if each town's dump was in the NEXT town!
My father, G. G. Cummings was one of three Bristol Selectmen and he had plenty to do without restricting people from taking things FROM the dump. He was probably more concerned with getting things INTO the dump. I think he was paid something like $200 per year???For 9 years.
In this day and age, if there is anything in the dump that can be recycled to help anyone at all, why would the Selectmen restrict the practice? There are now 5 Selectmen; it would give the two new ones something to do, I suppose. I know you want me to mind my own business, but Bristol is still my "home town" on Facebook.
