Paving over the problems is not solving the reason for the blight in the first place. Low pay jobs cause the blight such as the hotel and tourist industry.

That way they can start their own business and not beholding to the local mafia. A library is much more important than schools and sport fields.

We need a bus line to make the library, ICC, UofM, etc accessible to those who cannot afford a car but have the ambition and determination to make something of their lives. And there are hundreds who are unable to get to work in inclement weather because they cannot afford a car or cab fare. Of course the special people don't want buses. Buses would allow young black kids to get to that new aquatic center and the mall. The important people wish to keep their children in an aryan atmosphere and they seem to be quite successful so far. Two malls have become "ghost malls" to move away from the ghettos of Shake Rag and Ida St.

Inclement weather never stopped people from learning and jobs do not provide the satisfaction f your own business. A town designed for walking does not need cars. Bicycles can get you anywhere in Tupelo. What we have is a culture based on lack of exercise. We also do not need malls or central shopping areas. Stores should be within walking distance, not clustered in one spot. What we have is a culture based on too big to fail rather than self ownership. If we had stores scattered in residential areas we would not have over spending or the waste on cars and fuel.It would also reduce the tax collected by government.
