Well our wonderful City Commission is at it again. It appears that they are going to cut the manning at the Fire Station and impose a new Fire Service Fee. So basically we are going to pay more for less! WTF Minneola??? Is it just me or does anyone see an issue with this?

Well, the fine council people really dropped the ball on us now. Had that not been so careless in spending money, they would have the funds to get them thru the "hard Times", just as I do. They freely blew thru money in which they felt was an endless supply. So now what happenes with the law "2 in 2 out"?? The law is on house fires, two go only ONLY if two stay out ready to go into the fire in the event the two inside have a problem and need rescued. Before they skated around the issue because Muffin top (AKA, the Fire Chief) would stand outside, not in his gear ready to rescue his crew. Now the firemen will have to wait until the next closest truck gets on scene and set up.....all while you home burns to the ground. Hopefully your children or elderly mother doesn't burn to death.
I suppose the council should have not only controled the Fire Chief careless pending, but they should have controled their own spending. Now they are in a real pickle.
Do they care?? NO. And for the Mayor to blame Amendment 1. Yeah, that cut revenue, there is NO question there. However, had Minneola staffers planned ahead, they would have enou reserve to get them thru the hard times.
Also, wasn't part of the deal for Sugarloaf Mountain not to start construction until they build a temp. fire house and hire 2 more firemen per shift? And now they are laying off 3 people at the main and only station?? I am confused.
I think Minneola need sto fire the Muffin Top Fire Chief, promote within and can the rest of the useless positions. For so long they paid a part time secretary and a "Hydrant support guy"....why didn't they bag those people last year and have saved the money?
Mayor McCheese...don't blame Amendment 1....blame your poor leadership and choice of the council.

and no...I am not spell checking so get over it. You are almost not worth the time to post on this issue.

A reduction of firefighters, no recreation department, code enforcement is gone! All to save residents $32.00 per household, great job guys, at least we still have a library! That $32.00 in annual savings is going to cost me $50.00 in insurance premiums when the ISO rating changes due to lack of manning. Do all of your homework before you sell the residents of Minneola your BS! All of this "great" work and ya'll don't think you are paid enough Ed? You volunteered for it, I didn't see your salaries cut. Hopefully it isn't your house that burns down or your loved one that dies because of your lack of better judgement. See you Saturday! Hope ya'll are prepared!

I am amzed at the ass clowns on the Minneola Coucil. Sue Cordova is about the only person who can make educated decisions and now she is leaving. As for Mayor McCheese....as much of a dumbass he is, I must give him credit for the letter he wrote that is being distributed around town. He layed it out in black and white and pulled no punches. As for me, I would rather pay $32, or even $50 more per year for the sole purpose to keep our FD and help staff them with yet, more Firemen and medics.
So people, it is time to turn the heat up on these 3 dumbass council people (Joe Terri, Pat Kelly, Ed Earl). I wonder since they VOLUNTEERED for the council, if they are willing to give thier paycheck back to the city. Hmmmm, doubt it. I know Mayor McCheese typicaly donates his to charity, and I give him much deserved credit for doing such (no Dave, I still think your a dumbass...generaly speaking).
Why doesn't the City have Volunteer Firemen?
