PINE HILLS, Fla.—Two men are dead and one is in critical condition after a shooting in Pine Hills on Wednesday evening.

Deputies said the shooting happened at about 5:30 p.m. in a first-floor unit of a West Oaks apartment building on 729 Royal Lake Circle.

"When the (front) door did not open, he went around to the side of the apartment, found a window, fired some rounds into that window, breaking that window," said Orange County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Paul Hopkins.

The shooter entered the apartment through that window, ambushed two men, and then killed himself, deputies said. Two women who also lived at the apartment fled.

One of the victims, Austin Duink, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"It looked like he got shot on his arm because there was a whole bunch of blood on his arm and stuff," said West Oaks resident Jerry Oliver. "I was trembling, kind of like I was thinking,'Why would this happen? This neighborhood is nice,'" he said.

The third victim, Donovan Cope, 21, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
