It would be profitable if we hadn't made that fine donation to their coffers too. There would have been the same tax revenues, the same number of jobs created, the same everything. Unless they left in which case we would still have 3/4 of a billion dollars to work with.
Corporate welfare is always bad. Always. And by the way, Pawlenty would have caved on the stadium deal too. He would have been bought and paid for just like the rest of them.
Have you no civic pride in your home state?we should invest in our state, the more revenue we accrue, the more wealth is spreaded around
the state, thats good for our small business and for the people esprit de corp.

Investing in your state is not the same as buying a stadium for someone who has more than enough money to do it themselves or has the credit to get a damned bank loan like everyone else has to. It is blatant corporate welfare and favoritism to large, wealthy, corporate interests who have no interest in our state.

Elections really do have consequences.
When the Moocher Class decided in Nov 2012 that they wanted the evil rich to pay more in taxes, they elected a DFL majority in the MN House, the Senate, and the Governor’s Office.
Well, I have news for the Moocher Class, you are going to get burned.
My taxes are going to go up. That is a given. But, I can control my income and mitigate any tax increases.
I will not offer salary increases to my employees – blame it on the increase in taxes that the company is going to be paying under Gov GoogleyEyes and the DFL Legislature.
I can adjust my income and my deductions. Can you?
The Libs are doubling the tax on alcohol – a very regressive tax that hits the low and middle income people the most.
The Libs are increasing the cigarette tax by $1.60 per pack – another very regressive tax that hits the low and middle income the most.
The Libs are going to increase the gas tax and that hits the low and middle income taxpayers far harder than the upper income tax payers.
The Libs are broadening the sales tax base to include clothing and consumer services – more regressive taxes that hit the low and middle income people the most.
You name it, the DFL Legislators are going to tax it. And you are going to pay for it.
The DFL is also going to see that there are no more entry level jobs unless they are government jobs. Kicking up the minimum hourly pay to $9.50 per hour will kill the entry level job market. Automation is far cheaper, and more reliable than unskilled labor.
Enjoy your government cheese each month.
It is getting to the point where I am going to say,“Screw it.”
I will no longer provide health insurance for my employees. I will no longer provide a Health Savings Account for my employees. I will not longer provide a company funded pension program for my employees. In fact, I might no longer provide a job for my employees.
I will no longer invest in people when I can buy automation to accomplish a task. And I will begin looking at outsourcing personnel as a way around the increased costs due to intrusive and bloated government regulations. The bottom line is that I can control my destiny. I will survive quite well.
If you work for someone else, you have no control. You will pay higher taxes. You will make less money. You are screwed.
Well done voters. Elections do have consequences.
Whats the matter smart libel,I wanted to hear more about your employee's and how you're going to take their health care and pensions, and your devestment in your workers and buy automation, your going reduce their 10 minute break to five minutes, and how about that regulation BS that govment wanted you to take for the safety of your employees in your shit factory, heck why should obama care about them illegal's anyway, and the nerve of governor goole eyes, who have all of the money(targetcorp) in the world tax me?wtf I'm jus ta lying loser folks.

They should be paying us for the privilege of putting their business here. Not the other way around. It's one thing to allow a deferment on property taxes. It's another to defy the will of the taxpayers and implement additional taxes, without a referendum as required by law, to give what amounts to welfare to the team, the league and the owners. This applies to any business, not just sports franchises. This has nothing to do with republicrats and democans. They are equally to blame. They all get some kind of payola for these deals. Just follow the money. Don't be blinded by misguided loyalty to politicians who don't give a whip about you.

It is very interesting to see how the two stooges portraying themselves as Libs have taken to very weak attempts at personal insults rather than addressing the issue. Guess that is what happens when you are incapable of putting up an intelligent argument, right Sludge?

The fact is that I can control my own income, deductions, and tax obligations.

The typical middle class or lower income tax payer can not.

Yet, they are the ones that voted in Gov GoogleyEyes and a DFL majority in the House and Senate thinking that they were going to stick it to the high income earmers in the state.

Life's tough as it is. You just chose to make it far harder on yourselves. Enjoy living off your government cheese. That is all you are going to be able to put on the table.

What people who have depended on the government or the unions to think for them, don't understand is that there are many people out there who can and will control their own destiny. You and fortunately, I, have been able, over the years, to put ourselves in such a position. "We did build that" and regardless of the drivel and nonsense spewed by those dependant on the Big Brother, we can determine our destiny free and clear of their tentacles and they just don’t like that.

Frankly, I don't know and don't care. Between the NFL, the players, the team owners and the advertisers, and the networks, all of whom make a shit ton of money from these sporting events, there is no rational justification for making the taxpayers pick up the tab for a new stadium. Not a one.

If someone has paid in to SS all of their lives, like a huge majority of us, don't they deserve to get that money back when they are qualified to collect? That was the deal wasn't it? We pay a little, our employers pay a little, we get to collect when we turn a certain age in order to supplement our income. I don't know about you, but I want back every penny I have been forced to pay in over the years. So private or public, I don't really care as long and the bi-partisan vultures stop stealing from that fund and start finding ways to return every red cent they have "re-allocated" for other projects over the years. I want my money back when I turn whatever age I need to turn to start collecting. And it damned well better be there. Not being spent on some one who has gotten so overweight that they are declared disabled, or someone who is too "depressed" to work.
