"Both McGlasson and Britton have been charged with felony murder and aggravated robbery, as party to a crime.".

Correction... both have been charged with felony murder and aggravated battery; neither has been charged with "aggravated robbery".

Good to see UW-Stout get the word out on this tragic case. The eight hocky players in question should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law if they in anyway participated in this murder. And what about a team member being an innocent bystander? Those who watched this crime unfold without protesting are partly to blame. The very least of our worries should be the welfare of this hocky team.

It's not like Stout attracts the brightest of college students. They don't say, "Stout, Stout, it's the easy way out," because of their rigid enrollment requirements.

This is no doubt nothing but a tragedy, however I must say this isn't the "normal" behavior of any hockey players I've ever met. In 25 + years around the sport, I've never met any players (boys or girls) who have been anything but kind, considerate kids. Let's not blame a sport for the action of a few thugs.

Stout has been trying to keep up with better DIII schools (St Norbert, St Scholastica )for years now, and have obviously started recruiting out of state/country prospects. I hope the NCAA takes a close look at their program.

A kid is in DIII hockey because of the "good education," not because they have any kind of talent. Being a thug just goes with the territory.

Now that is funny. I gotta say if that was true I would not be sitting where I am now with more success and money than you will ever dream of. Some of us did apply ourselves in our education and what we did with our education in our lives. I wouldn't trade what Stout had to offer for the world.
Truly a sad turn of events in this story.

Jared Britton and Jedidiah McGlasson better start considering what gang they will join in federal prison. The rest of the prisoners will have their way with these two white boys.

Hey "80s Grad, as an alum, why not write to the board of regents at Stout and tell them to impose some standards. Stout's reputation is in ruins.

Stout admits over 90% of applicants. 25% have ACT scores of less than 19 (roughly the same as a chimpanzee.)

And seriously, what thoughtful parent would send their child to that place, unless there was no other place that would accept them?

They have been trying to impose standards for the last two years. Try using google next time. You can read all about it.

I am well aware of the Chancellor's efforts. I suggest you google the facebook group "Who is the chancelor trying to kid? This is Stout!!!" (yes, they spelled "chancelor" wrong.)

Here 1485 dummies signed on to this group using mostly their real names. Read the comments. These guys are morons.

As long as Stout accepts anyone who can fog a mirror and puts them in a group of similarly minded booze hounds the deaths will mount.

Stout alum and the 10% of current Stout students who are sober enough to care about the reputation of their institution need to demand real standards, not just talk.

Why are you so defensive? Nobody had posted anything saying this was "normal" behavior for hockey players when you wrote your post.
