It's a good thing it's a 162 game season. With that said it's really starting to feel like this season is going to end far short of expectations.

Because that's not Grady's way. No matter how strong a pitcher is pitching Grady is going to pull him in favor of a reliever. After 8 shut out and dominating innings by Pavano on Thursday do you think he should have been pulled? Grady did.

Grady either has forgotten how to manage, is folding under the pressure of the HUGE expectations this year, or has never been a clutch manager. My vote is for the latter.

First of all, the Twins have not "won" a single series. There are a lot of games left this year, but I have a feeling this is going to be a disappointing season. The hitting is atrocious and I don't see that changing a whole lot. While other teams in the division went out and got better, we didn't do one thing to get better this off season. That said, the guys that are here need to start showing some professionalism and earn their paychecks. Three guys hitting over .235 on the entire team. An entire team on pace to hit under 50 homeruns for the entire season,(there are seventeen individuals that have as many or more homeruns than the entire Twins team this season). A closer, and I use that term loosely, with more walks than strikeouts and two blown saves in five chances. A front office that thinks everything will be O.K. the way it is. They'll make up excuses about injuries and Illness, but the bottom line is you need to perform, and right now a lot of the Twins better take a good look in the mirror.

This is what I think is going on Nathan (Hurt not the same) Morneau (Hurt not the same) Mauer (Hurt not the same) Lariano (Head up a___) Backup catcher Sal Butera (Couldn't hit his way out of paper bag) Gardenhire (Let the Manager of Year go to his head & quit managing) It was said earlier that the Twins were going to run more (3 Steals) I agree let the pitchers complete the game. Their bullpen is going to be overused again. Last thought, I have seen more fireworks from a firecracker than the Twins bats. Time for some changes.

Gardy won't change his routine of having Nathan pitch the ninth when they are ahead because it makes his job easy. He probably feels he can't make a good decision on his pitchers, so the easy thing to do is every time they get in a situation when they are ahead in final inning, he makes a change.... no thinking involved. The closer position is the most overrated position in baseball. How hard is it for a professional pitcher to pitch one inning and not give up a run, especially when it is always with no runners on base because they start the inning? If we truly had a great closer (and a manager with some guts), if a starter is doing well like Pavano did the other night, he'd let him start the ninth and pitch until he gets three outs or the opposition gets a baserunner, whichever comes first. Then a closer would earn a little more respect, because right now getting three outs with nobody on base to start an inning is really not that impressive for a professional pitcher.

A very good point. If it wasn't for this idiotic 100 pitch nonsense, we probably would have won. Can't Gardy and the others see that breaking up the tempo of a well-pitched game is just plain wrong? A few more innings aren't going to kill these guys.

Oh, he is. Sad to see such a fine pitcher fall post surgically, but that's how it goes.

I think the solution is for Hennepin County to build another Twins stadium.

When I heard the announcer on TV say Joe Nathan was warming up, I knew the Twins were going lose.
