Where is the outrage? 200 million for a 3 mile trolly! How much could bus service improve with that money? And, where is this money tree that's going to pay for this debacle?
BTW: our new mayor loves this idea. LOL
And it is only the start! But Minneapolis is flush with money. A billion dollar stadium, and by the time they are done...over $3 billion for the trolly cars.

Isn't it fun being a Democrat and spending everyone else's money?

Why not build streetcars to look just like an old time streetcar BUT with a NG engine and rubber tires.

That way there would be NO polution AND no need for track installation and overhead wireing etc.

AND because the cars are NOT required to run on a track they are very flexible allowed to be driven on any road.

AND if a streetcar has a mechanical malfunction OR involved in a wreck only the one streetcar is out of service, NOT the entire rail line.

Oh that's right they would be way to inexpensive and flexible and wouldn't require BILLIONS to build.

Why not do nothing? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
The Northstar line is a massive failure, but that doesn't stop them from cramming more down our throats.
Maybe they should learn the difference between want and need.
Agree, I was eluding to the fact that the bus system is nothing but a streetcar.

And installing all kinds of rail in streets is a hazard to bikes motorized and non-motorized. What happened to a bike friendly city?
