You forgot subsidizing an industry that uses more energy than it can produce.

You cannot eat ethanol corn. The problem is that we are bulldozing woodlands and grasslands to grow this corn. We are also growing it in areas that should not support a corn crop and are draining the aquifers to water them. That is why the green lobby is one of the most outspoken opponents of fuel ethanol.

Try to look less ignorant, if possible...

Except other crops are not this profitable, due to government subsidies, which is why they expanded farm land and use otherwise fallow fields to grow ethanol corn. Do you even bother educating yourself on the issues before posting?

Some people are quite fond of government subsidies since they create dozens of government agencies and even more union employees.

Why do you think I keep telling people to stop voting for democrats, republicans, and all incumbents. They are all the same.

Many of the farmers in this state consider themselves hardcore republicans/democrats (depending if they live in the west/east) but even a large chunk of the republicans will die for ethanol. Gas stations here have even taken out 91 fuel and replaced it with 89 fuel (we used to have 93 a short while ago as well) and eventually plan on having a level playing field with this ethanol crap. Don't count on Iowa to make the right choice this state is corrupt and bought off
