Brewster would probably still be the coach and the Gophers would have more wins if Brewster had the foresight to play Marquis at QB.

Hmmm, what can you say, the Gophs continue to stink up the field. This season can end right now as far as I'm concerned. Maturi better get the next coach right, otherwise the small fan base will disappear.

What?! The taxpayer paid stadium didn't make for a winning team? No matter. We have money to burn, right?

Just this spring Joel Maturi was saying how much talent this team had compared to previous Gopher teams.

Really? Which player our team will make the All Big Ten first, second or third string? None.

Why has this man not been fired for what he has done to our football program? How can he be in charge and not be responsible for what has happened for four years under the coach he hand picked?

It really is time for the Big 10 to get rid of the Goofers. No team in the Big 10 will ever make it to #1 at the end of the year, when their schedule includes by-weeks in Minnesota. It's not just how many wins, it's who you won against that makes a great team. As long as the Big 10 allows division 3 schools like Minnesota to be on the schedule the rest of the Big 10 will be penalized.

Another notch in the dismal legacy of Joel Maturi. I can't imagine a worse AD in the history of the University of Minnesota. His resignation can't hit the President's desk soon enough.

I painfully watched the game. These guys (including the coach) are pathetic. Or should I say Incompetent? They cannot throw, catch, kick or punt. Maybe they can get some points next year from the Big Ten or at least have the other teams spot them a TD or Two.

Gray should be playing and preparing for next year, nothing to lose now.

Does this mean the Gophers are gonna get a top draft choice?

No, and that is why the Vikings get to win more than we do.

I watched as well, and couldn't believe a 5th year starter at QB, playing in his 10th game of the season, could be whistled for two delay of game penalties and only avoided a 3rd because a timeout was called from the sidelines...all in the 2nd quarter; clueless. Couldn't believe the atrocious punting; Orseske looks scared every time he lines up to take the snap, and running to his side before booting it, like today, isn't going to help. Did the coaches add this lttle wrinkle to the game plan to help his confidence? It failed! More meaningless garbage points in the 4th, when the game is out of reach and the opponent isn't playing full speed or with all out intensity. The only bright spot was finally getting to see Gray for an extended bit of time. He did well and showed flashes of good things to come. A head scratcher though on why Horton put #8 back in the game. Then again, this whole season and Brewster era has been a noggin' knuckler.

The Gophers played with alot of heart and came very close to winning if not for some minor mistakes. Noticed the Gophers future head coach Brad chilly Childress on the sidelines in the first qtr giving the Gophers a much needed pep talk, what a nice gesture. Luv U Chilly

Weber was 17 of 22 including 1 bad INT and one good TD. Gray was 2 of 6 and was taken out because he does not know the full playbook. You may have also noted that the TD was Weber to Gray, just as Horton said it could be. I can not recall a Gopher team with fewer Big Ten players. We are just a very weak team in almost every way a team can be ineffective.
