Floyd decided to return for his senior season instead of entering the NFL draft.

Maybe he will change his mind now?

Bring him back to Minnesota so he can be crucified. He must pay for his mistakes by spending time in jail and pay money.

Probably a good time to enter a treatment program and leave the booze in the past. With the new CBA, not only is the rookie pay going to be drastically lower, but his stock could take a fall because teams question his character.

The kid has a problem. Notre Dame and his parents should get him the help he needs before he drinks, drives, crashes, and wipes out a family.

I knew Michael's mom, sisters, aunt, uncles, and cousins as a kid. Michael what the heck you thinking? You have a dream opportunity that never happens to most people. You are the shinning star of that family, and you're pissing it away. Don't sabotage your success..

The whole family has problems. Most of them have or had chemical dependency issues themselves. Dysfunctional to say the least..but quick to look down on everyone else
Okay... and what is the excuse for the other 97% of college students who drink? The real story here is why do campus police officers/security hold high-profile athletes (esp the black ones) to higher standard than the rest of the student population? Wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with racial profiling or being afraid of rich white kids and their lawyer/CEO parents?

Nope, it's because Michael Floyd's family has is "dysfunctional" and have "chemical dependency" problems. GTFOH hater.

Will it ever be possible that a black person could get arrested because they BROKE THE LAW or will it always be racism? You are right they were profiling. They were looking for drunk drivers and they found one.

It's news because he is a highly recruited/high profile athlete who will someday make millions in the NFL. This in itself makes him a public figure, and puts him under greater scrutiny. The fact that this is his second offense, putting that future in jeapardy is remarkable. The kid needs help before he drives drunk and kills someone else or himself.

Wow--Whether you like it or not, when an athlete is given a full-ride to play a certain sport, they are automatically living in a fish bowl. And when they play at a public university, their scholarship many times is funded with taxpayer dollars, which should put them under even more pressure to behave.
