A Gaffney man was charged in a shooting that sent another to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg Friday.
An arrest warrant from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office states that Marlo Terrell Parker, 19, of 114 Apache Drive, was charged with attempted murder.
According to the sheriff's office, a 20-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center following the shooting on Sixth Street behind Hardee's about 3:15 p.m. The man is expected to recover from his injuries, Sheriff Steve Mueller said in a written statement Sunday.
Mueller said Parker and the victim had an argument before the shooting. There were numerous witnesses to the shooting, and investigators were able to obtain a warrant for Parker's arrest Friday night. Parker was arrested that night and has been released from the Cherokee County Detention Center on a $40,000 bond, Mueller said.
Investigators have determined that more than one gun was fired during the incident, and more arrests are possible, according to the sheriff's office. Investigators plan to interview the victim later this week, Mueller said.
