Hey, I'm considering getting involved (it seems to be like hunting)

1. Is it like hunting but the prey is people?

2. Is it like shooting a real gun? or are painball guns really inaccurate? can it shoot straight? Is there a loud snip sound that will give my position away?

3. Really how much is this like hunting?

4. Can I rent somewhere first and then get higher end stuff if I like it?

you forget if you want to play it indoors or outdoors.
.
indoors has manmade obstructions like barrels, blocks, etc... in some ways like a city area
.
outdoors is in many ways closer to how the military in the field gets to deal with for woodlands.
.
warning. those lil paintballs leave a bruise about the size of a dinner plate when they hit flesh. or thinly protected flesh. you might want to invest in some protective equipment. a friend of mine was at one of the indoor one. we found out that someone on the other team had gotten him point blank in popsiján.
.
and there is a good reason they now require the full facemask. the time I played the game. I got hit in the face. I was lucky it did not take out any teeth where I got hit. but the broken lip later got infected.
.
I went with a group of friends about 1985 to play. I enjoyed it. despite the bruises and the broken and bleeding lip I came away with.

and the troll is making stuff up again.
.
reason I got hit in the face. is that I was in the wooded type setting that the paintball company my friends & I used. I had just moved slightly to get a better view when I got shot.
.
my friend how ever was playing paintball years before I played. he was at one of those indoor ones. and the one that got him. had been hiding in a barrel that was on its side.
.
I still wonder if that one dude I shot in the rump was able to sit down after that. or did he have to have someone drive him home.

Thanks for the response.
Definitely outdoors, I suppose I can buy some cheap armor (I'd use what armor I own but I don't want paintstains on it)

Did you shoot anyone over 50ft away, how was the accuracy of the gun, what gun did you use

Sorry I have a lot of questions

you could check with any military surplus store. since I do not know if they provide the protection known as 'the cup'. if they don't, try a local martial arts supply store.
.
all I had was denim pants. as well as a thick T-shirt. face protection was a set of goggles.
.
as for how far the ones I shot were away. closest was 10 feet away. I forget how far the furthest one was from me. I used a rifle type. they have a better chance at longer shots. but they have a longer time needed to sight. I used the business's equipment at the time.

Okay, thanks

I'm not too worried about getting shot (I'll wear goggles)

I think I'll just rent the first time, just to see
