This is a tragic thing to happen to someone, all divorce is nasty and dirty. I am confident this woman did nothing to drive this guy over the edge...

1 year for pleading guilty in a plot to have his wife assassinated? Seems pretty lax to me...what the hell?

Only a year, come on Judge. Do you really think he will stop. Of course not, he will just be more careful.

I hope he rots jail or better yet is paired with Bubba.

One year seems like an awfully short sentence for plotting to kill someone. Next time he'll make sure he is successful.

how about 18 years in the slam and 1 year probation.

Even though I believe Terry needs some kinda help, and he got off too easy, I don't think comments about his mug are productive.

Also, being paired with Bubba isn't going to resolve this either.

He will serve 8 months and may even get work release. That means he will be out everyday working. I understand his wifes fear. He will be able to pay support while still working, small consolation for his wife always looking over her shoulder. I feel for the kids who are always the losers in these cases.

All you posters are so quick to condemn him! Have any of you considered that she may be to blame? What he did was wrong but there are so many awful, evil, crazy and scary wives out there who through there own actions, treachery and narcissism have pushed their husbands and families to the edge. If we were on the jury and could have heard the whole story, we may well have acquitted him. You are a fool if for a minute think that this could not be you...

Your coverage of Terry Dechaney was one sided, unfair, and counter to the thought that someone is innocent until proven guilty. Your paper is going into the economic "toilet"....please don't let you ethical performance do so also. For those that care about accuracy, Terry plaed guilty....with an ALFORD plea,(that means that he can't afford another 75-100 thousand bucks to fight another trial) the state can keep spending our tax dollars to re- trial, but he can't. The jury came back "hung" 7 for Terry, and 5 against. Did anyone wonder why the state agreed to no jail time for pleading to "conspiricy to commit murder in the first degree?(the one year he got was at the judges perogitive)

Actually, I talked to Terry in jail and he hasn't been having any problems. By the way, to all posters that convict him without knowing any facts..."innocent until proven guilty" ring a bell? also the term.."alford plea" look it up morons.

Look at this ignorant post from..LMAO...Tom turkey..he talks like he knows the info on this story, he acts like he knows what happened. Be honest...we are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty but this joke of a poster has already convicted Terry without a clue as to wheter he is guilty or not. How pathetic and limp is that?(VERY!)

don't be so sure...I know them, they are both stubborn and did stupid things. Sge used the system, including getting advice from "alexandria house" on how to frame Terry. Alexandria house is a women's advocacy group that (on audio tape) told lisa that "it's too bad that he didn't hit her or that she's not afraid of him" because she could get him arrested, then she would get the house. Amazing that shortly thereafter...he was arrested! Watchout guys...you could be next.

How would you like to have this one on the jury in your own trial? What a clueless A**! wait until someone accuses you of something you didn't do...you'll see all kinds of moron's convicting you too.
