My mom gave my this old 2001 Ford Escort for college and now I am thinking about moving to Japan this summer.

It's in pretty bad shape and don't think anyone would want to buy it. Is it true you can receive a tax deduction if you donate the car to charity?

I did some research and found this website that says you can receive up to $500 or more depending on the value of the car.

Has anybody done this successfully? I just want to get rid of this junk ASAP before summer hits.
