This kind of thing makes me suspicious immediately.

Do we really want our mobile phone manufacturers to install a way to log in and 'kill' or 'brick' a phone? Stolen or not, couldn't a hacker just bypass the code and kill millions of phones at once?

And how would we know this feature isn't carrying hidden surveillance software?

I know thieves love these things and there is a big black market demand, but this is a narrow minded liberals solution to a complicated problem. Giving up more privacy is not the answer.

Welcome back.
I posted this in another thread on the same topic.

Did you know you can call your phone provider and have them wipe the phone remotely if it gets stolen?

And there are even apps for that.

Yet another piece of useless, "feel good", legislation that politicians like Amy are so well known for. Designed for nothing else but to garner a few votes from people who don't know any better.

This country would be better off if there was a kill switch for liberals and Democrats.

The 'kill switch' on their brains was enacted about 40 years ago.

There is also a app that allows you to track your phone. In case it gets stolen.
.
Hubby has that on both his and mine. We are planning on putting it onto the phone we are planning on giving our daughter. It is to be one of the older ones we no longer are currently using.

Sooo why on God's green earth are the goofy libertards pimping legislation to kill cell phones?
Another solution for a non-existent problem.
Like we say: FIX THE ROADS!!
Because there is a bit of a black market on cell phones.
.
Since some folks use them not only to call friends and family. They have at times the PWs to the person's FB page. And at times are the main way some folks get onto FB.

Many products have serious side effects. Booze comes to mind. Why doesn't Government mandate a kill switch for drunks? Users will demand cells and smart phones be modified with kill switches IF they see a need.
PWs are none of Governments business. FB, only idiots spill their life on FB anyway.
Many a family member keeps track of other family members thru FB. As well as letting their family and friends know what is going on in their lives. It has taken the place of snail mail letters in most cases.

I did see that thread afterward. I cant believe a hacker hasn't already gotten in and killed millions of phones.
