fly-over state

states in the middle of the country that are uncool and call soda "pop".

these states have lots of farmland and stupid people and shit like that.

they are called "fly over states" because people never actually go to them and just fly over them to get from the east coast to the west coast.

the square states

ohio, indiana, the dakotas, minnesota, wisconsin, are all examples of fly-over states.

According to your logic, almost all the states are "flyover states".

Minnesota happens to be a state with a great economy, better than average schools, a high standard of living, and a great place to live.

I am happy and proud to live here in such a great state. If you aren't, I'd suggest you find somewhere better to live. May I suggest Mississippi? The taxes are lower there and you'd fit right in.

You get proven wrong again and you lie about it. The reason MN is a fly over state is stupid people like you and there are lots of them here. After all, we have Goofy Eyes as our Governor.

Ever notice that when the mad-dog libs suggest moving to a state, they always bring up "Mississippi"?

How about the Dakotas, or Idaho, or Utah? States with *low* taxes, good schools, LAW AND ORDER, a low WELFARE RATE, states that don't put up with ILLEGAL ALIENS or import REFUGEES from EVERY CORNER OF THE PLANET who don't have TWO NICKELS to rub together?

They have *low* unemployment rates, a good standard of living, lower crime rates, and they don't subsidize BILLIONAIRES by building them taxpayer-paid stadiums, arenas, artsy-fartsy projects, EITHER.

It won't be long before Minnesota experiences the misery and decadence of states like Michigan, Illinois, New York, and California.

Sociopath,

This "we" you refer to is scary....DO NOT access any weapons unless your intended target is YOURSELF!

"Ideation"

"[Fantasy]]- A psychological state in which an individual generates alternate scenarios, creates fantasy worlds, or otherwise imagines things in a way that may contradict external reality. In this context, ideation may be considered constructive or escapist, creative or destructive, depending on the lens through which this state of mind is being observed.

It would be a real Public Service if one or more of you Defectives were to describe your Deviant Ideations of me that you use when Diddling yourselves as you post as me.

Is it the tax incentives? The low unemployment rate? Or the growing regional prominence of its college football teams?

For a variety of reasons, new U.S. Census Bureau data released today finds South Dakota to be the fastest growing state in the Midwest over the past decade - ending a three decade run at the top by its neighbor to the east.

South Dakota's population grew by 7.9 percent for the 10-year span ending April 1, 2010 - from 754,844 to 814,180.

Minnesota's population, meanwhile, grew by 7.8 percent, from 4,919,479 to 5,303,925.

That depends on your definition of "quality of life".

IMO, the 'quality of life' in Minnesota was WAY BETTER 30 YEARS AGO.

It also depends on your definition of a "professional".

And CA is still kicking MN's ass. Even with a lesser growth rate.

Perhaps the legendary beaches here are losing their pull. California, once the very symbol of sun-drenched American growth, had a population increase of only 10 percent in the last decade, the slowest rise in the state’s history. And for the first time since California became a state in 1850, it will not gain a Congressional seat.

The population of the most-populous state continued to shift eastward, with inland Southern California counties showing the most explosive growth, according to Census Bureau figures released Tuesday.

In Riverside County, the population grew by 42 percent, and in San Bernardino, a sprawling county just to the north, it is up 19 percent.

Bike paths????? You really included that in the quality of life in MN? Also, posting information from 10+ years ago to measure quality of life just shows how stupid you are.

Among many other things
"quality of life includes"
-Illegal Aliens smuggling dope, driving without a license of insurance, growing dope in our state and national forests
-Parks....OK, I'll give you that one, but it isn't that big of a deal...
-Lakes are being degraded every single day with alien plant and animal life, and the cost to access them is going up every day.
-Theater....is this a JOKE? Fact is, most Minnesotans could care less, we have more interesting things to do.
-Bike Paths....yeah sure. Use road tax dollars to build bike paths that don't pay for themselves, that put bikers in harm's way of auto traffic, resulting in more deaths.
-Schools....last I heard, our schools have been steadily declining over the past 30 years, DESPITE the fact that their budgets have EXPLODED.
-Museums....are you kidding me? Which "museums" are you referring to?
-Low Unemployment...sure, we are below the national average, but there are MANY states that have a LOWER UE rate than MN, and most of them are more CONSERVATIVE, with LOWER TAXES, TOO.
-Decent hospitals and medical care...sure, but WHO PAYS FOR IT??
Hint: it's usually those who rarely USE IT.
-Human rights aka equality.....wrong, you mean AFFIRMATIVE ACTION and REPARATIONS, and taxpayer-paid BENNIES that you can't or won't pay for yourselves. Why can't you just tell it like it is?
-Government services... do you mean free, gold-plated healthcare, FOOD STAMPS, subsidized college tuition and grants, housing assistance, utility bill assistance, refugee cash assistance, subsidized transportation (TRAINS), counseling, public defenders, subsidized mortgages, cash for clunkers....did I miss anything?
