Holiday Wishes: She's been homeless, but still served others

Upon finishing her shift at a St. Paul community center kitchen, Bobie Ayler, a Head Start cook, hurries out the door to pick up one of her grandchildren from school.

in many cases. folks who are lower income are more likely to share with others who are either at the same level. or even worse off. than those of better income standings.

A friend works a "homeless" shelter and he is abused regularly by those on the street. They demean the staff and squish the food on the floor. They demand food to their likeing treating staff like slaves. They break the rules and act like spoiled brats.

But hey you get that fullfilled feeling after working there. Knock yourself out!

better question would have been: Have you done ANY form of charity work. this includes fundraisers.

Yes, many times. Most people are very grateful. A few are so mired in their own multiple problems (they are using a shelter after all) they could be perceived as gruff. A mistake to take it personally.
